India has signed a crucial bilateral Haj agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the Hajj pilgrimage of 2024. The agreement dictates a total quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims to be sent from India for Haj this year, with 1,40,020 seats being earmarked for pilgrims via the Haj committee and approximately 35,000 pilgrims via Hajj operator groups. Union Minority Affairs Minister, Smriti Rani, played a pivotal role in the process, visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and leading the Indian delegation to some of the holiest sites in the country. The delegation included Minister of State for External Affairs, V. Muralidharan, an MP from Kerala, along with officials from the Ministry of Minority Affairs. I think to summarize the Pakistani man’s opinion, I think it’s the fact that in Islam south Asian Muslims have always taken a secondary and lower role over Arab Muslims and Arab descended south Asians (ajlaf, ashraf, arzal). So the hurt is that they accepted being secondary in the ummah bc they always believed the ummah was above Hindus, so ipso facto they perceived them selves as better than Hindus even though they accepted being lower class in Islam. And saying there’s is no distinctions in Islam is a clear and absolute fallacy. But to be clear as well Zoroastrians are considered Dhimma so technically allowed in Medina and Makkah.

The types of people are Ummah/Muslim, Dhimma (some monotheistic religions except Sikhs; non-Muslim Abrahamics, but not including Yazidi, Alevi, Druze), and then Kafirs (Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Shen, Shinto, etc). In Shariah there are two types of countries (according to Sahih Muslim) Dar-ul-Islam and Dar-ul-Harb. If a place is Dar-ul-Islam (house of Islam, where the law is Shariah) then Dhimmas may have a place of worship as long as it can’t be seen by Muslims and pay 10-15% of Jizya (tax), Kafirs would pay 30% to 50% or should accept Islam so they only have to give 10% Zakat instead of Jizya. If a country is Dar-ul-Harb (a house of war), then Muslims should use and grow their political power until such time that they can use the countries laws to turn it into Dar-ul-Islam. Basically that’s it in a nutshell. Edit: to add, while Jews are considered Dhimma mostly they are considered Abd in Muslim societies, and that conflict goes all the way back to Asma bint Marwan during Mohammed’s time.

I lived with my wife in Mecca from 1992 to 1997, I am Hindu, worked as a doctor just outside of non Muslim zone, my twin sons were born there, I never felt discrimination nor any problems there, all my patients did not discriminate me nor my wife, I had to willingly leave the place I cherished and loved, except for the heat, and I could not find a caretaker for my twin children, when I and my wife had to work 12 hour shifts, I will always owe allegiance to Saudi , my chidren were born there, there is nothing wrong with the land , all lands are holy, it’s the mindset, all religions lead to the same god, it’s just university of religions, my children now live in the US, cause of just being born in Saudi, for which I am ever greatful, I have had my challenges in Mecca, but my good times will always prevail ! It’s a great country, misunderstood by many, one has to live there to understand it ! Love Saudi

I personally feel that everyone should be allowed visit any religious pilgrimage until and unless they are harmful. I would love the world to visit Ram Mandir in Ayodhya to watch and feel the serenity which will be inagurated on 22nd of Jan 2024. I dont find an example in India that any individual from any religion is being stopped from entering any Hindu temple. Unless there is a threat alert..And if done thats against the protocol of the Indian constituition. Thank you

Pakistan again doesn't know about their own history, I am not a fan of Jinnah who Pakistan attribute as father of their nation, even he wanted to mold Pakistan as nation in the like of Turkey under Kemal attaturk [Not one of Erdogan], a country with Democratic and secularist framework, Modern yet religious, Socially advanced, wealthy, Educated and Technologically advanced, but only later so called military leader in the garb of national security and perceived threat from India changed the direction of Pakistani Society and destroyed democracy. Even now Pakistani's listen to so called "religious clerics" who doesn't want the society to reform because this clerics know they will lose their power base. If every Muslim were able to learn from "Holy Quran" rather from a middle man they understand they are following anything but Islam and it is the religious duty of every Muslims to educate themselves and learn his religion by his own. I request Muslim brothers to understand Hindu's and Hindu Dharma. We are not the Meccan Polytheist in Muslim history. Hindu Dharma is much more advanced than that and given credit for, even at 700 AD when Islam came to be, read our writing of this time period, a learned reader will understand this fact. Yes, Our Hindu Dharma have polytheistic elements but ours also have monotheistic elements too. God is singular but God's attributes are also infinite hence how God is perceived is also infinite and this depends upon cultural factors too, so a muslim can't say only their definition of God is the only Truth. As long as reconciliation between two largest faiths in this world won't happen, true peace won't happen.

As a Sri Lankan this is what I have to say it seems that Pakistan has lost its way and are still looking forward whether to be hardline Muslims or to be moderate Muslims like Saudi Arabia. Some people in Pakistan think that this is an opportunity to show the world that they are the true Muslims but no one else and are trying to attract the Muslims around the world to get attraction. But infact true Muslims should be moderate as per the teachings of Quran that's what Saudi Arabia had understood and following it. Long live Saudi Arabia. Pakistan should not try to be too smart in this Muslim issue because at the end of the day unbeknown to themselves they will be dragged into a chaotic Anti-Islam mentality which will drag them into a dire situation where they will never be able to get out of it and it seems that Pakistan is gradually dragging itself into that position by adding new enemies to its list.

It is a fact that in certain economically sound population of Pakistan the women are empowered. They had Benazir as PM for quite some time. Their women even today dont wear Hijabs. Only a segment of Pakistani women wear burkha or Hijab. Unfortunately when it comes to mass sentiment they become fundamentalist. Same case in India but here too a certain segment is becoming more fundamentalist and backward. In terms of mass sentiment among muslims they become less liberal. That is the problem.

If the Sharia allows non-muslims to visit Mecca why did the Saudi monarchy impose laws against that? Why do they consider Pakistani or Afghanistani muslims as lower class muslims? Now that India is rising to a significant position in world politics they're ready to ignore all their former laws? I'm sorry but as an Indian I feel the outrage is simply due to the discrimination South Asian muslims have faced in these middle eastern countries... The concept of "Islamic brotherhood" has always been a farce and caste discrimination is prevalent in them also. Feel good about the growing success of Saudi and India but let's not marginalize the weaker ones (South Asian muslim countries)
