Secondly, not my words, but this are the words of "navy chief Admiral Sunil Lamba" that indegenious design on SSN and advanced SSBN has started in as late as 2017 in the newly developed submarine design centre in Gurgaon. And this is just navy that we are talking about, talk about artilery, talk about indegenious fighter jets, talk about light tanks, talk about next generation MBTs, talk about standard rifles of infantries posted on loc and lac, talk about basic gear, rafales, s-400, talk about MREs for high altitude, and much much more has been cleared, procured and developed under the current BJP regime. We should go upgrade 6 P- 75 Scorpenes with AIP and 6 indigenous Super Scorpenes P-75 I with additional vertical missile launchers and AIP. I hope we will be able to complete the project on time without any hiccups as we already have the infrastructure in place. We should look 3 more of Akula class ( Chakra) nuclear submarine on lease and look for 3 to 6 build in Make in India concept with majority of indigenous components and also our submariners are very well acquainted with the same systems which will make it easier to get trained.

currently 2 bidders ( Sweden & Germany) out of total 6 bidders have backed out from Project-75I tender because of their own reasons while rest of the 3 ( France, Russia and Spain) are are not eligible to the bidding as they fail to fulfill the precondition set by the Indian navy about AIP system left only 1 bidder(South Korea) that fulfills all the conditions set to become eligible to submit its offer. But this situation of single party vendor is not acceptable as per the norms of the tender rules observed in India as on date. these unusual circumstances have put the entire process in quandary it seems and key to resolve it lie solely in the hands of the end user; the Indian navy. the Indian navy has either to negotiate with the only bidder South Korea or refloat the new tender by making the necessary changes in preconditions which would delay by another 2 years atleast. what are your comments on it ?

India needs better reactors for its submarines. Current indian submarines run using weapons grade uranium which is damm costly. Other countries use reactor grade uranium (less enriched).

Use your brain. The submarines will be getting 10 years from now will the best thing that is available today. The other country will be coming up with new technology but the their timeline will be similar so we will be in the same ballpark as them. Also, after 10 years we would obviously have to build more advanced submarines. So, your question doesn't make any sense. Also, with AIP systems now available, there won't be any revolutionary change is submarines for some time. We just have to update the weapon package which is already being done by DRDO. Also, the manufacturing is being done by L & T not some local contractors that there will be 'golmaal'

India need a CNC machining and Lathe machining boom and production time will get reduced to 7 month to 8 month per submarine. Steel rolling mills and machining need a news boom and it will be a big difference. Moulding submarine shell or fueselage is steel sheet rolling rest are rubber gaskets and rubber seals which prevents water from getting inside when submersed in water. It is basically lying submersible pump of 1000 feet length and 70 feet diameter. Middle section is propeller power train whether it is diesel, electric or nuclear and top middle is missile and torpedo launching bores and ejectors and all rest space is crew rooms, pantry, storage and control rooms. India should not totally rely on L and T and other firms. There are enough scientists and mechancial engineers available that India need a whole range of Indian lockheed martins and Indian Northrup Grummans
