Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Russian President Vladimir Putin alluded to a lethal strike on a children's hospital in Kyiv that Ukraine has blamed on Moscow. Modi, who said he had held a frank discussion with Putin on the Ukraine war said the death of innocent children was "heart-wrenching".
Modi also told Putin that peace was "of utmost importance" and that "war cannot solve problems." The Indian prime minister also defended fuel trade with Russia amid Western sanctions on Moscow. Putin thanked Modi for trying to help find a peaceful solution to the Ukraine crisis. Meanwhile, Putin also conferred Russia's highest civilian honour, Order of St Andrew the Apostle, on PM Modi on July 9. Watch the video to find out more.
