I’m in Sri Lanka right now, heading to the airport to fly back to Chennai (where I’m currently living due to my job) I can tell you that Sri Lanka is light years ahead of India. Obviously that’s not true of the railway, but in terms of infrastructure and cleanliness it’s absolutely on par with any first world nation. Rather than mocking Sri Lanka through a meaningless comparison of the railways, I think Indians can learn a lot from seeing how things are done here. I can say that from an unbiased perspective, because I’m neither Indian nor a Sri Lankan.

Imagine if india didnt have electrified trains there would be still scenes like Bangladesh people sitting on roof etc. it is responsibility of every citizen to make our environment good but some indian people of up, bihar and many others states lack this. Sorry to say.

And government should fine atleast double the prize of ticket who is travelling without it. So they wont do again or security to check if a person is carrying a ticket or not because machine used in metro cant be installed becz many people travel from train so it would waste time.

No indian railways goes through forests of western ghats and northeast jungles. It also goes through Himalayan region and desert region. It travels along with western coast with sea view too. In Chattisgarh it goes through grassland too. In rameshwaram it goes on tracks on sea too. Indian railway have more nature view
