4:20 I believe Simon refers to "bottom of the barrel" generals, who were simply those generals placed in positions due to their affiliation with CCP officials. Basically, since the PLA is more of the military arm of the CCP as opposed to the military arm of the nation, their military leaders are more politically aligned than militarily competent. For example, at the very least, every general and admiral in the US Armed Forces worked their way up the ranks, served in many different positions, and were promoted based on service records and potential to succeed at their new positions. In the PLA, loyalty to the CCP and (more importantly) loyalty to particular CCP leaders is far more critical in determining promotions and positions for the PLA.

The thing about US scenarios is the Generals always say we’re not ready for China, in order to get more funding. My dad used c4 to boil water in Vietnam, so using rocket fuel makes sense

​@@MeanLaQueefa they are almost never wrong about not being ready enough though. Sometimes they may not need more funding but almost always more than one person gets lost which is too much. Besides the 1 person too much rule they really are not ready. China is ending up with similar designs through every means it has. Right about now in the world there should not be anyone called a peer adversary. Even if a fight does not end up happening everytime data or equipment gets taken or lost it costs us to uneven the odds.

Not a paper tiger. They definitely are a second place on military far ahead of many on both numbers and tech to many. The physical strength is for sure a concern since its sort of like they have taken half of the US industry. They also have taken quite a bit on designs and doctrine. There is also the whole issue of them finding out they have had corruption for some time. They may make less military mistakes. China really does not have a similar level competitor in the rest of the world. They learned the ssr was kinda of a failure before Russia so in competence and numbers it appears they have a lead over most. Also historically China has been quite a force. They are not concerned too much with the other nations around. The idea that these smaller nations are united to resist China in anything except defence of their own land is kinda far fetched. China is is likely just stalling for a short time to see what America will be and if its the same America they had fought in the past. They are quite into diplomatically taking over and have written a few books on that sort of thing. There needs to be someone they dont want to fight. I would not want to be a person relying on the US government to get someone good enough into it to get someone to come save them.
