Im from Kolkata, My Bhaiya was scammed; he owns a telecom company, and a scammer found a loophole and cheated him out of at least 7 lakhs. Those days were really very sad; my Bhaiya lost his smile and charm. He even complained to the nearest cyber police, but it didn't help. It's been more than 1.5 years, and nothing has been done. The police keep asking him to come and mark his attendance. They manipulated my Bhaiya, suggesting he file a case against his own company by any user. Those days were really tough-I don't know what else to say.

I am a Bengali, living in USA since last 4+ years and other day I got call from one of the Scammer. The guy started with my Name and my company name. Also said “Myself Robert from Microsoft Invoice dept”. With his accent I started laughing and before i say anything he hangup. I told this story to my office colleague and they were like “how it feels to try your own medicine?” I felt embarrassed and said most of the scammers are Indian but not all Indians are scammer. Also asked, do you see Satya Nadela or Sundar Pichai doing scam to people? Its all about bad people. Then things went easy. Over the years American used to know Indians as Good in Science, Math.. good in culture, food and easily adjust themselves to American culture.. I see its not that far when the USA and other countries would refer Indians as bad people, if things are not addressed now!

I am from kolkata and one of my knowns joined the call center. On his day 1 the police raided their centre but no one got arrested and the policemen came out laughing from the head's cabin. Later on my friend got to know that the head gave 45 lakhs to the policemen as bribe.This people literally earn in crores per month , buy villas and supercars everymonth.

I'm from New Zealand and here in my high school, students make fun of Indians saying them Scammers and mimic the Indian accent by saying "DON'T REDEEM IT!!!" tbh in my brother's school they taught him about scams specially from Indian accent scammers.. I am a Full Stack Web Developer and a freelancer, I used to work with foreign clients and have a small team which works along with me, besides work we used to have some normal conversations like friends used to do, but what I hate the most is europeans/american/north africans used to call Indians scammers, our team would probably decline the offer/ reject it if the client is from India. One of my friend (from Nigeria) got scammed many times from India itself. I try to make them understand that these are performed at some part of india, but ifykyk their minds used to face those scams. Scammmers are insensitive to normal peoples. I got scammed from India, I live in UK. That people was either from Kolkata or Andhra Pradesh. I tried to reach out to police but sad part is, none of them gave me positive support. Got almost no response from any police or cyber team in India. I gave up then. It seems like none in India is ready to support or help victim suppered from these scams. Though I am indian, living in UK but still I hate India each day when I think about the incident in which sad part is not scammer but the police who was supposed to assist people like us but they do nothing. :( Don't know when India will have a clear image in this world.

I am from kolkata... This is absolutely true... Corruption is everywhere in bengal..... I travel to park Street Everyday in the morning at around 5.30 because of my college... And each and every day i find at least 2-3 phone snatchers and thieves , snatching phones from people( it happened to me as well) at the sealdah station or bus stop . The police officers, traffic police or the civic volunteers do nothing but only watch the incidents happening... Even if the thieves are caught and handed over to the police, the police leaves them easily after 2-3 slaps... These events happening regularly at the very same place indicate how corrupt those govt officials are. Kolkata Police aur Nabanna (building location of State Secretariat /Trinamool Party /Chief Minister Office) ko har illegal call center ki "per seat" ka rate ki fixed monthly payment jati hai. I don't think you guys are realizing the size or volume of operations. $11 Billion in 1 year, yaani 92,400 crores per year, or 7700 CRORES PER MONTH. This is much bigger than all scams of India put together. Much bigger than Harshad Mehta '93, Telgi Scam 2003, Coal scam, 2G scam all put together.

I’m a Bengali and am living in Australia. The amount of scam calls I receive with typical Bengali accent is ridiculous. I feel shameful and abuse them in Bengali and they just abuse and disconnect. This needs to be looked into immediately.

Why do other metro's are booming year after year, while Kolkata is left behind. Even Bhubaneshwar is developing at a face pace. It is now becoming the new hub for the IT employers while they are ignoring Kolkata. The present Bengal govt is to be blamed for this . This is such a shame for our country. The PM and CM have to immediately take action. Even within India there are particular towns and villages which are particularly involved in scamming Indians. I am from Kanyakumari and there have been two incidents where people have tried to scam me. I went to the cyber crime police and they told there are a few villages in Uttarakhand whose only work is this. If the state government and the national government is not taking steps against these scams it's a shame to the country at the end of the day. When we take responsibility of the good things that people tell about our country this is also something we need to take responsibility of.

They also sometimes say they are consultancies trying to give students jobs and are located locally but when they are asked for the address, they are confused and try to lie.

I was paid 12k INR a month for this scam call center job as a opener. 8 hours of strict dialing, no phone was allowed and manager always used keep eye on us and they were also listening our calls. I worked 1.5 months there and left 15 days salary because I felt bad for scamming people being an educated guy. Then I did, 3k job in agency as an intern and started my career eventually.
