I think the way muslims, jews and christians view the incident are very different and hence the implications are also different. For muslims, the sacrifice signifies obedience of God and usually Hazrat Ibrahim is the main focus with his piety and spirit of sacrifice as the major point of the narrative irrespective of the son. Thats why the name of the Son is not mentioned in the Quran. However with the jewish (and christian) narrative, this event is sort of used to describe the greatness of Ishaq and justify the 'chosen people' narrative of the jews. Also, in Islam it does say that Allah promised Ibrahim (AS) about the prospering and blessings of his descendants but what many forget that Ismael and Ishaq were not the only sons of Ibrahim. He had other sons as well which formed other great nations as well like the midianites. In islam, the relationship of Ismael and this event is not used to imply about the 'chosenness' of the Arabs, instead Islam discourages such ideas and that the lineage, race, tribe or ethnicity of the person doesn't matter, only piety does like that of Hazrat Ibrahim AS. The Quran repeatedly comments and discourages such behaviour, the "arrogance" displayed by some jews and their attitudes to several prophets of God many of whom they killed. This event is Hazrat Ibrahim's Spirit of sacrifice is commemorated and celebrated on Eid ul Adha (Bakra Eid)

In Quran the name of son is not mentioned Arabs = Children of Ismael Jews = Childen of Isaac (who rejected Jesus Christ) Christians = Childen of Isaac (who believed in Jesus Christ) Since In bible it says the sacrifice of only son it can be interpreted that it was Ismael since he was the only child for almost years.
