पुराने भाप के इंजिन देखकर बहुत अच्छा लगता है। ऐसा लगता है वही पुराना जमाना अच्छा था। आबादी कम थी और लोगो मे एकदुजे के प्रति प्रेम, अपनापन और लगाव था। गरीबी थी लेकिन लोग खुशहाल थे। अपनी अपनी मजदूरी करके अपना पेट पालते थे।

Starting at 4.53 , this is probably the best video of the GE-EMD WDM4 or the "Rajdhani Locomotive" on KZbin. First EMD locomotive in India with an advanced Flexicoil bogie that made it the fastest locomotive in IR even until the early 80s with the same turbine like whine from its turbo-charged 2 stroke diesel engine as the present day WDPX locos !

I am a Train Lover since 1954 and my hobby is to see the trains almost daily during summer holidays every year I have seen 2 turning tables one each in NANJANGUD AND MYSORE IN mysore myself along with my 6 friends used to go to the Engine yardspecially for seeing the coal engines numbering about 10 to 12 in a half moon shaped she'd in front of the ENGINE TURNING TABLE and whenever an engine required for duty they will be brought to the turning table and turned into the required line for moving further

बचपन में ऐसी कोयले की ट्रेन हुआ करती थी . बहुत मजा आता था. पुणे नगर तक और आगे मनमाड यह गाडी चलती थी. अभी 1990 के बाद यह गाडी बंद हो गई . धन्यवाद.

the whining and idling sounds of turbocharged loco WDM4 is far better than present day WDG4 and WDP4 locomotives. l just madly love this loco. l wish it could be restored or recreated again

That is because present day emds have turbocharger silencers whereas wdm4s didn't have it.

Steam engines were romantic but travelling on a steam hauled train was very cumbersome. The moment you looked out the window, coal dust would enter your eyes, causing red eyes. You had to remove the coal bit forthwith to prevent any damage to the eye. Your clean clothes would get swathed in coal dust so that you yourself would look like a fireman at the end of the journey. Add to all that, the atmospheric pollution and the fire hazards caused by the steam engines. Thank God we are out of that mess.
