You notice the youngster just unwrapping his ice cream and dumping the wrapper on the side of the road at 16:49 and this is a huge problem in India - the lack of civic sense. No matter how many times I try and ask someone to pick up their trash behind them, I am always met with a retort or a defensive response, but no shame. And to see a young man do this saddens me.
@SeanandEmily9 күн бұрын

@@SeanandEmily Haven't explored Mumbai a ton, only as a transit to Trimbakeshwar so I can't say much. But, my experience with Delhi was horrible. Though I guess I generalized a bit too much. It's not totally right, I met more kinder people here in Delhi than other states like up, bihaar, karnataka, vishakhapatnam (not a state tho). I noticed that here people don't care about each other's life but at same time are ready to help you, whereas people I have met outside of Delhi, they care about what's going on in my life and do not want to help yk

You must have baked alive with the jacket and helmet? Twenty years ago, my boyfriend and I drove around Karnataka and Kerala on an Enfield for a couple of months. We wore scarves if it was dusty but otherwise we didn't wear helmets. Looking back it seems incredibly risky but it was a wonderful experience. It was in the days pre sat nav, so i navigated from the back with an old fashioned map. And we just stopped wherever it looked nice and we could find lodgings. People were sooooo friendly, in a small village we stopped for chai in a shack and about 30 people came out of their houses to meet us. On Christmas Day, we stopped on a quiet lane to eat some food on the grass, and a nearby house owner came out and invited us in to join them for Christmas dinner. We were offered wonderful food and a couple of shots of whiskey with the head of the house !!! Great memories. The only thing I did not miss, was the sore bum from sitting on the bike !! ( I'm English by the way and would have been in my twenties then )

The same problem exists everywhere and it takes a major effort to remedy this mindset of its someone else's job to pick up after you. The world is not your trash can! On another note...the word Arachnophobia comes to mind 😊. Not making fun of Emily because who likes spiders. The coffee plantation was a welcome change from hustle of the traffic and people. Enjoying the India tour very much. Well done my friends.

No scammers on this day, once we got away form tourist areas and met the real people of India we really experienced the kindness and hospitality of the people 😊 Yeah exactly, they rally have maintained that local feel where the shops give a personal touch and shopping is an experiecne not a lonely walk with a trolley down countless aisles (although it is convenient in this busy world).

Oh, what a shame you weren't there! We would have loved to see your local spots. Unfortunately we never really know where we are going to be so it’s impossible to organise anything. You live in a cool place 😎👍🏻

To really embrace the local culture you' ll probable have to spend an equal amount of days in the North and that includes the Himalayan countryside - love from one of your Indian admirers

Yes for sure!! We will return to see the North (well some of it at least as it’s a big area 😊) thanks for watching 😎👍🏻

There is virtually zero crime in rural India. People are really friendly. It’s only the big cities you have to be careful of scammers.

While returning you may get an even longer stretch of reserve forest - Bandipur and Madhumalai. Not sure if you will take the route but I hope you do. And I hope you spot some wild elephants which are often hiding in the trees. And theres also a hilarious video of a guy in a scooter getting chased by a tiger in that region.

Thanks, there's so many places we could visit ...we needed more time 😊 Being chased by a tiger is literally our worse nightmare 😱 haha hope he got away!

The best places to ride a bike in India are Kashmir, Ladakh, and Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh. I’m not sure if the roads are open right now, though. You should definitely check out small Himalayan villages in Himachal Pradesh instead of the big cities if you want a unique and amazing trip. If you’re looking for something special, travel to Sikkim and explore the villages, especially in North Sikkim. After that, head to Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. These spots offer things you won't see in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, or Bangalore. Another cool route is riding through the Munnar in Kerala. But I’d recommend starting with the Northeast first. If the roads are open, Ladakh, Kashmir, and Spiti Valley are absolute must-dos for a biker
@SeanandEmily9 күн бұрын
Yes these are all amazing routes but we had this time available and this is a good time to visit the south. Hope to do the ones you mentioned in the future
@msreeni19 күн бұрын
Yes Kashmir to Ladakh to Manali will be one of the great trips for a biker. Please do this if you are visiting in future.

Just a heads up, the dark grey road surface noticable at 26:32 is usually a dried oil spill and you can easily slip and slide on it. I am from india and ive been riding for 10+ years now and had a fall on a similar surface. its best to avoid that particular dark spot. I loved your video, im from goa, India! let me know if you'll are heading this way! it would be amazing to meet fellow bike riders :D

You have to try the beef biryani in Kerala. Kerala is a clean and green Indian state. Please do visit Wayanad as well if you can. There is a beautiful Zostel property on top of a hill set among tea gardens, that has private rooms as well and the view is stunning from there,. And yes, Kerala banana and tapioca chips are delicious and the best in India imo.

Sulthan Bathery, named after a "Sultan's Battery," was used to store artillery. If you're still in the area, head to Kozhikode to try local cuisine at Paragon Restaurant, ranked among the world's top 10. Continue via Thrissur and end the day in Kochi, exploring the city at night. The next day, visit Munnar and ride through Gap Road for stunning views of the world’s most beautiful tea estates. If you have more time, travel south through Alappuzha to Trivandrum to explore the capital city and visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the richest temple in the world. From there, continue to Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, the southernmost point of India.

That looked a great place , wonder what there gold prices are like compared to Europe
@SeanandEmily8 күн бұрын
It was a lovely place! You can ask Emily 😉 ....gold prices are less than Europe for some reason. It's Indian gold and is a lovely dark gold colour, also the rings are 23 karat so you get a more pure gold for less. We found a really nice little jewellers in a back street of Mumbai that had been there for decades ...was also half the price of the Highstreet ones in Mumbai that were obviously ripping people off.
