If they knew they would go back, they would not even consider applying. Why would they give their money to Canada in first place(fees of foreign students is so much higher than Canadians- that's a scam). And not to say whole another scams(fake college, no skills in market or education, higher living expenses), it is so bad that even Canadians are leaving Canada. But most of them are not even going to classes. They work a lot (mostly "under the table" because there is a limit how much an international student allowed to work), don't show up in classes. My friends in colleges and universities say most Indian "students" either sleep in class (because working too hard) or only show up during exams, and us Canadians and other international students are just too polite to even talk about it. These Indian "students" often use organized cheat to get their grades. If they fail, they would say the schools are unfair and even put up so called "protests" like those in Brampton did. As a student, you should not expect more! If your expectations were distorted, then I don't see how that's Canada's problem. You come to a country so you abide by its laws, rules and regulations. Your visa is expiring, you leave. Then apply for PR from your country and come back based on your merits and on how well you contribute to the Canadian economy. My sister went to Ireland to study and she came back after her studies. She didn't protest to be given the right to work there. She got her PHD and came back to Canada to work here. Amongst the Indian working group, many are self-employed and contain “unpaid helpers in family enterprises”. India has one of the highest emigration rates in the world. As many zero in on education as a way to gain access to a western country? Did international students/families pay into Canadian taxes all their lives like domestic students have (earning cheaper tuition fees)? No. Plus Canada did NOT tell international students/parents to spend/risk their life savings on a "Canadian dream". Canada did NOT tell international students to borrow money. Canada did NOT promise international students work. Canada did NOT promise international students money. Canada did NOT promise international students PERMANENT RESIDENCY. Meanwhile freelance agents have been operating in an unbridled market in India. Often by painting a distorted picture of what students can receive from Canada. Plus in recent years, a new type of recruitment has cropped up via foreign nationals as many "edu-tech" have created online platforms to connect millions of potential students with the recruiters. The sub-agents have absolutely no no direct connection with the Canadian college. Plus the college has no no ability to control their conduct. Indian sham operations abused/abusing Indian students in person &/or via massive advertising. PRIMARILY in their native language that most Canadians do NOT understand. Painting a false picture in their minds (of what Canada could or would or should offer). Canadians are seeing primarily Indians protesting & waving their flags on Canadian streets making demands. Because they may not have enough credentials to remain in Canada? And because rules designed to protect CANADA are not meeting their desires? Why isn't there crowds of African or Caribbean or Filipino etc., students making demands? They're in Canada too. And even though Canada is being falsely/unfairly blamed for too much, Canada has yet to deport students like crazy (but likely will soon). Instead Canada has been trying trying to find balance of who can stay vs go. While also trying to fix anything Canada did wrong. Create a better future. Why? Because Canadians actually care about doing so for both Canadians and international students. Canada's own youth are also victims of the above mentioned scam artists now too. Many Indians keep saying their politicians are corrupt. True? Plus Canada didn't have numerous PRIVATE 'diploma mills' until 40% of international students were from India. Coincidence? Schools that Canada is shutting down. ⦁ What about all the YT videos that primarily Indian nationals have posted (for half a decade now including today) all advertising Canadian PR like they're selling a product? Promoting Canadian visas & permits & schools & jobs etc. etc.. Videos not only posted hourly but rarely in English or French. With very very rare input from Canadian citizens. ⦁ What about the IELTS spouses? Anchor babies? ⦁ What about Canadian food banks & other charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages? ⦁ What about Canadian housing being scooped up en-mass as investment vehicles by, and for, foreign nationals? Some home rental/boarding signs stating "vegetarians only can apply". Often these 'landlords' also cram 20 students in a small home and charge them each way too much for rent. ⦁ What about Indian nationals buying local businesses then repeatedly putting Indians only in the top tier positions (while also changing familiar work practices)? BC & Ontario are also outlawing the Caste System. ⦁ What about the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortions across Canada? Diasporas stirring up tribal hatreds (in Canada) even though it all stems from their ancestral home. Why????????? ⦁ What about the Canadian government launching investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections, stemming from Asia continent? Canada also had to end flagpoling at the border. Canadians are so so so not used to all this!! Do Indians care about Canadians suffering too? I am an Indian living and working in India. Here is my take. Canada should absolutely only allow people that they think would be beneficial for their country. I think the Canadian Government did take up too much. What Canada should do is be very picky about who they allow in the country and exactly for how long, while they should maintain a better country-to-country diplomatic relationship with India. What your Government has done until now is the opposite. They allowed completely unchecked immigration into the country and destroyed the diplomatic relationship with the Indian Government, thus making it harder for the Indian Government to do anything about the false advertisements. Here is something you guys need to understand - if someone falsely advertises to some student about the benefits of going to Canada, the Indian Government cannot by itself discover that the promises are wrong. The Canadian Government is required to tell us that they are seeing students coming with false promises. But since Canada does not want to talk to us, there is nothing we can do. If that is the attitude that people have coming here on a temporary Visa. 33 years ago I had a temporary work reason to work in the UK I worked six days a week paid rent paid bills and we built a business that hired other people and put money back into the economy. I can’t imagine being out in the streets protesting it to the UK government that I haven’t been pretty to the privileges of people that were born and bred in the country and were there before me in Ontario we definitely do not have housing available. The cost of housing for a room is $1000 a month outside of the city, basement apartment is 2000 and Condo, one bedroom and den is about 3000. I’m not sure what jobs students are expecting when employment is not at all-time high and the healthcare system is already strained and failing people that need vital surgeries. Seniors are waiting three months for an MRI and students that were born here are having trouble finding employment because entry jobs are given to immigrants we are approaching UK and Ireland crisis levels, it’s not about racism. We don’t have the infrastructure.
