I think the mgt. realizes it. It's just a matter of time until Sides is canned. The question is who will become the new coach. You need to be reasonably sure you have the right coach before you sign a contract with her. We don't need another version of Sides. We need a coach that is 100% on CC's side and that recognizes her talent and place on the team and that can work very well with her and support her for real. And also be able to teach a proper screen, how to catch a pass and how to not give up huge leads in the final minutes of the game. It is not easy to find the right coach. It might take a little more time to get it right.

Nalyssa Smith is in a relationship with the girl who called on CC to comment on people pushing an agenda of racism, misogyny and transphobia and some other expletive. Do you think that girl will give her all for CC when her girlfriend is name calling CC. You have Mitchell who hugs the ball whenever she receives it. She can shoot but she is not always the best option but behaves like she is. Erica Wheeler is not giving her money’s worth production wise. Some players might be salvageable but some will have to go. Some rough days ahead.

Let me start by saying everyone wants to win. Right now, Clark's team do not care if they win or lose. A winning team HATES to be loosing. Let look at LA, Chicago, and Detroit they HATE losing. Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain both came to the same conclusion. The TEAM must be on the same page. To score each time when you get the ball. Indiana DO NOT set screens, They do not play Defense, Their Tall player are not around the basket to get the rebound. Yes, Its WOMENs backet ball, BUT If they want to win learn the game. Play to win! The last play of the game should have been worked out in the practice days before. It should have been drilled so many times they dreamed in their sleep.

If she is viewed as not giving Clark a "fair shake", it may be easier to get a job. I’m saying every team the Indiana Fever played are more talented at the guard position. It’s extremely hard to evaluate a player without the pieces to the puzzle. Anyone can do what Christie Sides does because she doesn’t know sets, rotations, or who the best shooter on the Fever team. We witness this by Sides regulating Clark to taking the ball out of bounds. Give Caitlin Indiana Isiah Thomas, John Stockton (Great Women’s Coach and Coached his Daughter) or Steve Nash because it’s going to be extremely hard to play for a coach that doesn’t have at least the same IQ or hasn’t played in the league. Coaches in NBA are a majority of former players, the coach’s calls the plays, players run it to perfection, and they manufacture open shots. (Curry & Klay Thompson) Clarks has made a lot of low percentage one-on-one shots that were not designed in the offense. Now she’s accepted the reality by saying, “I’ll just give my teammates the ball.”

Hire Kathie Layden. Best coach in Indiana. The Fever need a teacher/developer to get the team on track. Layden has won 5 IHSAA state titles with one 3-peat and a back2back at a different school with a chance at another 3peat. Had 4 D1 players from a public school with only 600 students. One made the All Big 10 freshman team and another led the Big 10 in rebounding. Kathie was also nominated for national coach of the year in 2019. Her teams play an Iowa style game. If you play for her you better get your track shoes on.

That was the last straw and we witnessed it. Caitlin I'm sure gave Sides plenty of chances to learn from her. I've always felt to respect my boss he must teach me something, not just be my boss. At that moment CC realized that Sides is an inferior coach. Sides has been making mistakes with substitutions and starters. You cannot start Kristy Wallace when you already have two weak defenders on the court. Mitchell and Clark are not great defenders. At least Clark rebounds. Celeste Taylor should start for Wallace, an elite defender with great speed. She and Hull need to play.

Christie Sides worst enemy is Christie sides. Her demonstrated lack of expertise in coaching is magnified tenfold by her inability to deal with the fact that Caitlin Clark is more knowledgeable about how to coach, how to deal with the media, how to manage the chemistry among Fever teammates, how to manage the playing expertise of each player, and every other facet of making the team work like a machine. Side's knowledge of all these shortcomings fuels her jealousy and frustration that leads her to decisions like having the greatest shooter in the game on the sideline putting the ball in play. There is no cure for Christie Sides. There is a cure for the Fever, and she is waiting on the sidelines.

Even back at Iowa when their defence failed Coach Bluder said that it was her fault that she didn't do a good job planning for defence. Didn't blame her players. They won anyway and her player immediately came to Bluder's defence and said we weren't perfect either. Monika Czinano and Caitlin Clark had her back and said this is why she is the best leader and it is what she teaches her players. Coach Sides has no accountability. Not a good leader.

It's not losing respect. The respect is there. However, if the coach cannot bring out the best output from its star player, that coach lacks the coaching ability. In this highly competitive sport, we cannot afford to have a coach who pulls the breaks on her players' momentum to win. The coach can be the problem.

I believe you have to can both Lynn Dunn and Sides. Dunn should be correcting or have a road map they are working on. But the offense as you said is basic. Poor screening, poor boxing out, poor defining roles. Never, ever should you have Erica Wheeler and Kelsi Mitchell on the floor with Caitlyn. And Wheeler should get few minutes. Even when they won the games, every one was close except for the Dream gain, and that includes 2 close ones with the Mystics. And you have Caitlyn shooting 10-12 times a game with a low of 8. That is criminal. She should have 15-18 a game. But this move of dropping Taylor when you crying about defense, and she is adaptable to Caitlyns game in running the floor, you drop her to pick up a lumbering big/wide body that you been talking to all year, coming off injury. Now you have Boston set, with time split between Smith, Fegbenele, Samuelson and Dantas. I don't think Bluder would want to coach with travel and all, but I would hire her as GM and let her pick the coach she can work with of similar mindset in terms of offense and defensive scheme, and then for those whose skill set or desire to buy in to the team concept don't fit, than start to add talent based of need and attributes to be successful.

It ain’t NFL, NBA, or even NCAA. The W has been a club level (non-profit charity) for more than 25 years. What other “major business of professionals” would be accepted and kept open for that long without ever making one cent of profit? Simon and Dunn are leading this and accept the results. I like the race car analogy. I would like to suggest a further elaboration: CC is a Formula One car with her own internal crew chief and diagnostics system and any number of influential minds that would be glad to be in her pit crew just to be part of the movement she’s spearheading, and Sides’ performance is that of a NASCAR pit boss trying to drop in a big block muscle engine and rebuilt automatic transmission from the ‘70s and rearrange the fuzzy dice on the rearview, all during a pit stop while a race requiring precision performance is already running. Cut the ‘fundamentals’ and ‘learning the system’ BS. CC is the firmware update, just let her implement the bug fixes. CC “been knowing” her fundamentals-you can see in her eyes and behavior during dead balls that she’s playing a game within a game to keep from being bored out of her got-damn mind with this system, meet her own goals that keep her interested (evidenced by shooting threes before heading to the timeout or locker room), or becoming enraged by the frustration. I have ADHD. I see what her brain is doing-its three steps ahead and struggling to speak in algebra when it’s already doing integrals and derivatives. Her passes are vector quantities in a matrix, not arithmetic multiplication products. Most of the other players see it. She is “gifted” (a loaded word) to have the mind, the physical ability, and central and peripheral nervous system integration to do what she does. I’d like to suggest also that observers please recognize the distinction between ‘mind’ and ‘brain’-interrelated but not the same. When you have a brain that’s “built different”, the mind will begin to show the frustration that there’s a noticeable disconnect between the stated goals or plan and the implementation of those plans. Having the power to find a solution being restricted from you by outside influences eventually leads to either shutting down abruptly and uncontrollably (and for indeterminate periods of time), chronically underperforming or “ just ticking over,” quitting for more gratifying prospects, or behavioral outbursts-because brains that are built different hate being gaslit and made to jump through hoops passive-aggressively by people whom they can intellectually run circles around. She must actually have had that parental, mentor, friend, therapeutic support to deal with it, because I would have gotten myself fired by now telling Sides all about herself, on television, if i were in her shoes. Like, proverbially to drive that stock car right into the hay bales and watch it burn, because she can appear invested on the sidelines in her pullover and defensive stance and shouting to convey intensity, but that doesn’t translate to intelligently utilizing her personnel, so the “use of resources” would be no less wasteful and at least the flames would be beautiful for a minute.
