I imagine that before passing the videographer, this victim trucker probably "cut off" the Jeep driver, in order to pass the videographer's truck! It's just a guess, but I see it happen time after time after time. I travel a several miles of interstate almost every day, with two miles of it, a long, steep, 3 lane mountain climbing road! Each time I ascend this mountain, I find all three lanes blocked by tractor trailers, in spite of the large signs reading: "No Tractor Trailers in Left Lane!" The local small town cops ignore these violations, as well as both the County and State Law Enforcement, as they're profiling travelers seeking to stop those with large sums of cash on board! They of course "confiscate" all large sums of cash, because it "MIGHT BE" meant to purchase illicit drugs, several states south of here! I occasionally see southbound cars pulled over, being searched by a Cop from a dead city of only a few hundred people.

When I was a kid, I was traveling with Mom and sisters in hours of long heavy traffic for a number of trips we had to make - just us girls. Dad did heavy construction work and didn't like us in heavy traffic like that without a man, but he couldn't go for his work schedule., but we has a CB because of his work. One trip we shared some info with some truckers around us, and they really appreciated it, and when I told them the kind of work Dad did was why we helped them, they put us in the saddle out of respect for him. miles on down the rode, a guy came in off one of those axis roads and came right into our slot, Mom had a little trouble making the lateral move into the other lane to get out of the way of our car being clobbered broadside, they acted like they didn't even see. The truckers told us to get behind them for a few minutes and they put him in the cradle and edged him right off to the bar ditch. It was level and he was safe, they didn't try to wreck him - just gave him something to think about. They put us back in the cradle, but they never tried to make any move on us or anything, they just felt like Dad had taught us to respect and help them, and they treated us like they wanted their own family treated if they were on the highway without their own Man around to help them if anything happened. Dad was so proud of all his bragging about Truck Drivers and of how we behaved towards them, and how well they looked out for us for his sake, even though they'd never met him. He loved it. We did, too. Right at 50 yrs ago.

Only 1 problem with that solution.......unless the truckers are trying to KILL everyone in the Jeep, whether or not we personally wish it or not< , there IS an EMERGENCY LANE that almost ANY CAR can out accelerate a truck in. Therefore, If the trucker tries to stop the pass, he risks killing all occupants. If the vehicle is not being chased by a COP, then leave them alone and go about your day. Personally, I HAVE passed trucks in the emergency lane cause they were being huge pricks on the highway. A truck(er) should damn well know they back up a 2 mile line of faster moving vehicles cause they wanna pass another big rig doing 2 mph less than them. Taking 10 miles to pass another truck is just IRRESPONSIBLE Driving and STUPID. Be patient, pull over and SHARE the road instead of HOGGING the road. Seen this so many times on I-81 in Va and nearly killed by one asshole that wanted to do 80 in a big rig and couldn't STOP in time for a road emergency. Also on I-95 going thru NC and SC cause it is only 2 lanes there. Time for some Fiscal Funding to widen them roads like Ga and Va have done.

I had a dude in a Silverado get pissed at me because he thought I was intentionally blocking him from merging onto the interstate. He couldn’t see the car beside me riding about 1/2 up my trailer. The car stayed beside me because I am pretty sure he couldn’t see the ‘Rado trying to merge on the interstate. The idiot merging actually rode beside me for about 1/2 mile in the emergency lane before accelerating and passing me. He then had the nerve to brake check me several times and slow to about 30 mph. I am sure a lot of my fellow drivers are familiar with the area of I-75 S around Perry, GA and just how much time Georgia State Patrol spends sitting on bridges looking for unbelted drivers then calls ahead to awaiting troopers with the vehicle description on who to pull over. Lucky for me, there was one on a bridge ahead of me, doing just that! He saw the entire episode take place. @basspig9 жыл бұрын
+Barb Wallace True. In most cases, the idiot drives solo, but consider that sometimes ramming them can cause them to veer into someone else's lane. It's just too risky. Besides, if they didn't hit you, all you lost was a few seconds and a few ounces of fuel that you will burn to make up for braking hard. But in an 18-wheeler, the stakes are higher when someone cuts you off. Not long ago, on a state highway up here, a 16 year old girl cut off a gasolene tanker on a state highway, causing the tanker to flip on a bridge and explode. The bridge had to be replaced at taxpayer's expense. The kid did face arrest, but not much happened. The truck driver narrowly escaped death.

As an aspiring trucker(just got my permit). This is the type of stuff that scares me. Do people not understand that these types of vehicles are a very different beast. Brakes will fail once they reach a certain temp, an emergency maneuver in response to that type of behavior can end lives, and most importantly these trucks are heavy and will crush anything in its path without effort. Seriously people THINK!
@heerolover3608 жыл бұрын
rust8infinite I do agree with you, to a point. Yes, brakes will fail once they reach a certain temperature but not in a situation like this. When you get brake failure is usually hauling a heavy load down a decent hill riding your brakes. The roots is flat here. Even slamming on your brakes isn't going to cause them to heat up enough to fail just due to temperature. How I know is I've been driving for several years already and I am also a certified driving instructor for tractor trailers. For the most part you are right though.

What we don't know is whether this truck driver cut off that jeep first? Trucks are constantly cutting off left lane vehicles because they want to pass a slower truck in front of them. They cut you off make you slam on the brakes (sometimes almost driving you off the shoulder) and then you have to wait several minutes to pass the truck they are passing that you would have done in 10 seconds. I'm not saying big rig driving is easy, (I've driven bigger trucks shy of big rigs and know its not), and I know it's very helpful when fellow traffic helps them out, but it would be nice if they gave the same courtesy they expect on the road to the smaller, faster vehicles! I have driven across the country more than 15 times each way, I know what I am talking about! This Jeep driver seems to have a beef with the truck....and it very likely occurred before they made it in front of this camera. My guess, that truck previously cut the Jeep off!

I'll move over and hit the cruise. if they jerk in front of me and try to make me rear end them - there won't be any "my word against his" and the other guy saying I came up behind him and rammed into him. the video will show what happened. the other driver will be charged for causing the accident and our company will be suing them for scratching our truck. and the other driver might show up to court in a body cast.

@jnmaher8 жыл бұрын
He could have waited farther back. Even though nothing happened because of his close range the potential is always there if you're too close. It is a high-risk situation when you choose to be in that position. You are at the mercy of the vehicle in front of you. You don't know what they are thinking, doing, or what they are perceiving. It's a crap shoot when you drive like this and it is the unspoken biggest danger on the roads. Collisions don't just HAPPEN, they occur 98% of the time because one or more drivers refuses to lose a little speed to make a situation safe. When one truck is going 1/2 of a mile per hour faster than another one, and they attempt to pass it, it can be a long drawn out process that really doesn't get them anywhere. Too many drivers (all drivers) refuse to slow down for safety. In this clip all of the trucks are following too close. It isn't that anyone is waiting to pass, it is that they do this constantly. We professionals should know better than to travel any distance in that precarious position.

Being that there are very few truly good drivers on the road, it is likely that each of you are ignorant, inconsiderate drivers yourselves and it is because of that, that you do not see much wrong with this, nor do you think that there should be consequences for your actions. While I see police catching people for going 5 over the limit, I never see them catch asshole drivers and that is where other drivers on the road should take responsibility. What is going to happen when a reckless driver hits and kills your parents? Is that what it takes to make you people understand the problem with all of these reckless drivers? If they cannot be brought to justice then they should at least be dealt with commensurately. Also, don't say to call the police because I have had to do that more than once and they never caught up with the dangerous driver. Now go ahead and post an ignorant response as I am sure you will.

Get a cam or two and submit the evidence to the police each time you report things. Oh, and grow up and become part of society in a positive way, please.

What you won't see is the semi's taking forever to pass each other thereby creating these road rage situations.

That’s less common than you think. When you’re out there on a strip of 100+ miles, passing someone at 5mph makes the difference, usually that slower truck doesn’t understand how to maintain one speed. It’s more common for cars to pass slower than trucks, and then get right in front of you.

This type of activity is what is currently going on with me. If you noticed the 3 cars before the one who cut in front of them...it looked like they where traveling together. What they do is, travel in groups and perform maneuvers to try and get a truck to wreck into them. The DOT in each state should try and track these people who are doing this. It looks like a team of insurance scammers or something. Its hard to catch them because they travel in large groups 10-30 cars or more. It looks like regular traffic but far from regular, they know what they are doing and should be watched for. Record all your travels and document each car, so if something does happen, you have proof of them following you and their driving habits.

this is someone clearly trying to pull an insurance scam. he's literally going out of his way to keep in front of the truck while slamming the brakes repeatedly

well he better hope that the truck he's doing it to does not have a camera recording it. Or any other truck in the area.

I am a driver. I see this all day everyday. But I see drivers deliberately pull out to pass for several miles and block off traffic just to 2:17 2:17 2:17 piss everyone off. So in my opinion some truckers (notice I didn’t say drivers) deliberately ask and provoke road rage.

What you do there is get on the horn with the guy in front...You pass the both of them and then give the ass-wipe in the Jeep a little brake check. Funny how quickly 4 wheelers get the message when you have a couple of big rigs working together.

I live in Indy and see things like this way too often. I know it happens everywhere, but it's disturbing to see it happen so close to home, especially when the truckers are doing everything right. People think it's a game. It may be to them, but guess who will win?

that jeep and the driver would off look like shit if a fatal accident should occur. it's people like that, that would freak out if truck drivers stop delivering goods. understand that the food you eat, the cloths, the house, and the Cars you drive made its way on to u by a truck driver. the world is moved by truck drivers delivering the products people consume everyday yet they don't get enough respect on the road.

I'm all for truckers as a rule but a few years ago I-40 through Tennessee had a reputation for truckers going side by side for miles on end. I would take pictures of them and email them to the highway patrol along with the date, time, truck numbers and tag numbers, location, etc. And then I would call their owners and file complaints.
