Once you get to Gizeh, the game just opens up and becomes otherworldy in its storytelling. Like a natural continuation of the original movies, it fits in seamlessly as if directed by Spielberg himself. They utterly nailed it. Bringing in science fiction but using it tastefully and sparingly to elevate the biblical aspects of the story. Keeping in line with the original feel of those original movies. I have this just, and I mean just, behind Silent Hill 2 for game of the year.

It's a fantastic game but you need to get 2-3 hours in before you really start to realize why. It's just so DEEP. And it captures Indy perfectly, not just the character but the tone of the movies (like when he's feeding the snake in the background while 2 other character talk) The ending fight was kind of a let down, difficulty ramped too much and the part where you're hanging seemed just random. Still, every Indy fan should buy this!

Fantastic game that truly captures Indy in his prime. Still, I appreciated the last two films. Sure he's old, sure it's not that same feeling of the original three, but I thought it was an honest way to wrap up Indiana's life. Now with this game, and the already green-lit sequels, we can bask in Indy's prime in perpetuity.

I haven't watched the films actually. But one day, around 2006, I just stumbled upon a CD-R that my dad had burned, thinking he had downloaded a new Indiana film and probably discarded. What I found on the disc was the 2003 Indiana game. It was like finding a lost artifact of the ancient. At first I didn't expect anything good, but ultimately loved it and still remember it more than any Uncharted or Tomb Raider. The new game is somewhat similar. You don't expect a whole lot from it, but it ends up being actually special.

I would say that Fate of Atlantis did a great job replicating the Indy spirit as well. But this game does its level best to outright replicate the cinematography of the films in its cutscenes, and it’s almost what we were promised when we were told about “Interactive Movies” back in the days of CD-ROM.

3:19 I think the only one in the modern era that you would consider is Henry Cavill with Superman and the Witcher although they were already established characters and it’s not really the same level definitely worth a mention.

It was good but not great. Very true to Indiana Jones and Raiders which was awesome. However, it had its issues. Great maybe compared to the garbage of a lot of the AAA titles coming out today, but not great. Enjoyable and entertaining but not like I couldn't put the controller down. A great game is one I don't want to walk away from.
