It's interesting how Lucas seems to understand the ... "spectacle" of pulp adventure better - with his ideas about the Holy Grail and haunted castles and such - while Spielberg seems to understand character arcs better, and together they are able to tie one to the other, making the Grail search analogous to reconnecting with his father in the same story.

What a career: he’s acted in Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Indian jones & a James Bond film. I just wish that the Indy films didn't devolve into so much silliness and slapstick. The original Raiders will always be my favorite.

Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Temple Of Doom, and The Last Crusade ARE my favorites. When The Last Crusade was released in 1989, that would be it for me without realizing it. The other 2 do not exist nor will they be part of the collection.

I really enjoyed Dial of Destiny. Ford had some very moving moments in it. I think it redeems the series after C. Skull and gets closer to some of what Last Crusade achieved but in a unique way. You really do see growth in Indiana.

Spotted Julian Glover on a train heading out from London Waterloo mid-2000s. Late at night, I was drunk as a skunk, but he was more than generous conversing about Empire Strikes Back and Last Crusade before I had to stagger off at Putney. Top bloke.
