I remember my mom taking me to see this in 1981, I was 15 and I wasn't really all that enthused about going to see it, as I hadn't heard about it and didn't know what it was about. But, boy after about the first 10 minutes I was hooked! It's still one of my favorites! My mom knew me pretty good. I miss her dearly.

Great memory! I also remember not being too excited as I walked in the theater that day in '81. Like you, I didn't know much about what we were soon to see and I just couldn't get past the fact that we were going to see a movie with 'Han Solo' in it that wasn't a Star Wars flick. I remember sitting down, actually wishing they would somehow mess up and just show Empire Strikes Back again instead. Once it got started though, I don't think it took even 10 minutes for me to figure out that this would be one of my favorite films of all time! Years later I got to realize a bit of a dream as I was lucky enough to be an extra in the last-shot scene of the most famous fan-film ever made: 'Raiders The Adaptation'. I was one of the German soldiers in the back of the truck that Marion shot from the gun-turret of the rotating airplane as well as a background soldier in a few other shots. You can see it here on YT by searching 'Raiders vs Adaptation'. It was surreal living out a childhood fantasy in real-life!

A few years ago I was taking a train from Schenectady to the city and when we stopped in Albany, a woman who'd just boarded asked if she could take the seat next to me. I immediately noticed how incredibly striking her smile was and a moment after she sat down I told her she looked familiar and could swear I knew her from somewhere. She said, "I'm an actress, my name's Karen Allen, nice to meet you." Being the same age as the kids in The Sandlot and having grown up a big Indiana Jones fan, I surprised myself and played it pretty cool. We made some small talk about going to the city, I complimented her on her work and gave some small details about growing up with her movies, she asked me about myself, and then we both went on our laptops. @@swifty1969 The larger problem is that U-Boats of the era could only operate submerged for a few hours at a time, and traveled slowly while doing so. They weren't at war in 1936, so they probably would have traveled on the surface, except maybe for their approach to the base, assuming it was secret and they didn't want to let the Greeks or British know what they were doing.

Karen Allen fu incredibilmente strepitosa e altrettanto sottovalutata da Hollywood

Back when movies were still made on location. Now, everything is green screened, and computerized. It's just not the same.

"Finally, finished my montage of movie clips. But there's something missing, what is it...? I know! Loud, inappropriate music that makes it hard to hear the dialogue." - Guy who makes videos for a channel with nearly 3 million subscribers.

So weird seeing the actual fight scene with the scimitar man, all the effort that seems to have gone into it, and in the end they just pick the cut where Indy shoots him due to Harrison having stomach issues.

I'm glad Steven got his first choice for Indy which was Ford. George didn't want Ford because he had already been in 3 of his films. He didn't want him to become his 'Bobby Deniro".

I like the scene where he shoots the swordsman. He's telling the viewer “you want action? Yeah look elsewhere”

Haven't seen this movie in a long time. I'd forgotten how many amazing English actors there are.

Amazing to see there was a sequence with him hanging on to the periscope. Maybe it was better to leave it out, but I liked to see that they at least filmed it.

Belloq being dressed while preparing to perform the ceremony, reminds me of the Witch King of Angmar getting the same treatment, before leading the charge from Minas Morgul in Return of the King.

What a piece of gorgeous man Harrison ford was. Stunningly handsome.

You can hear another reason why they redo their dialogue afterward. Stomping around on the 'cave' floors reveals they are just plywood covered in dirt.

8:05 which is exactly why Sean Connery was cast as his father in Last Crusade in spite of the 12 year difference between him and Harrison Ford, because Lucas felt who better to play Indy's father than the original James Bond.

L'absence du merveilleux duo Marion/Indie, dans les épisodes suivants, a beaucoup nuit à la qualité de cette série de films.😮
