It's Evansville Kentucky. We picked up some hitchhikers who were from Montana and were heading to Florida. When we started a conversation they looked shocked and asked damn, how far south are we. In Evansville we have a southern lilt that isn't exactly a southern drawl but to a northerner, they have a hard time distinguishing the difference. Reno Nevada is called they greatest little city. I think Evansville takes that honor. In Evansville you get Hoosier hospitality coupled with southern hospitality, a great combination. I live in the Philippines now but I am proud to say I was born and raised in Evansville.

I watched both of your Evansville videos. I know you like to touch on some of the historical reasons that have caused some of the urban blight and other related issues. Evansville used to be called 'The Refrigerator Capital of the World'. It was home to Whirlpool, which located to a more friendly NAFTA country, cutting 1,100 jobbie jobs. The blight was there before, but I can guarantee that the factory closing kicked up the despair level enough for a lot of out of work people to pick up a meth pipe.

You can see why they call Evansville stop light city. Before they built the I-64 by-pass and the new Hwy 41,truckers had to drive all the way from northern Evansville to Kentucky on a 2 lane street and it took forever. The truckers named it stop light city because there was a light on every corner all the way through the city.It is maybe one of the most boring big little cities in America. It's where they shot A League of Their own.Madonna,Tom Hanks and all the other actors said they had never been so bored in their lives. It is a law crime city considering there are over 100,000 citizens living there. The night life is practically non existent and other than the University of Evansville, the team that beat Kentucky twice and they beat Purdue the year they were rated number one, there aren't many sporting events taking place. For a big little city,it is pretty laid back and as I said crime like murder is low.
