My parents took me there almost 50 years ago and I still remember that vividly!! I remember those small doors, and imagined what it would be like to have to hide there and how scared they must have been.... really powerful!!

I grew up in the Midwest; I had at least two friends’ families who had houses with Underground Railroad hiding spots 🕯️ I remember being fascinated by them 🙏 thank you ☺️💜⚖️💖

ACTUALLY that building WAS MY ANCESTORS! Thomas and William Bulla, my great x$ grandfather and uncle, were a couple of the VERY FIRST STATION MASTERS for the underground railroad! How dare y'all try to make it ONLY BLACKS! Us Irish-Quaker/Cherokee/Blackfoot ex slave families demand you show THE BULLA FARMHOUSE and tell the REAL story! OUR ancestors loved those black slaves because our family were Dutch-Irish Quakers KIDNAPPED (3 brothers! Thomas, William, and another who jumped a train to Illinois) from Ireland and brought over AS SLAVES! They helped the Irish-Dutch, Black, and Native American slaves get set free!

Nobody cared about love . People wanted to be free . They could have loved them from a distance but as soon as slaves were freed it was still a problem!! Look at today in 2022!! Racism is the root to all evil! The crisis in america

Please learn to honor people's humanity and evolve your language! They were NOT "SLAVES". They were ENSLAVED PEOPLE, Africans, individuals - chose whichever humanizing noun that you'd like, but stop referring to these PEOPLE by their oppressed condition/commodity code.
