12, 14 or even 16 will still have the same kind of results with potential blowouts. The Super Bowl has had many blowouts as well - it doesn’t mean the team that lost was horrible or someone else more deserving. If you want to be in the playoff you have to win games and that means almost all of them - this 3,4 loss team discussion is useless. If you lost 3 or 4 in regular season - you are not going to win 3 or 4 in a row against solid competition.

Notre Dame’s offense is 90% just runs and screens. Their QB can’t consistently throw the ball downfield, they don’t have any elite WRs/TEs that scare you. UGA will be the best at OL, RB,TE, DL,LB and DB that ND has seen all year.

Now that it’s said and done, which team had a better season: this year’s IU team, who won 11 games to make the playoff but whose best win was over a meh UMich team and who lost their final game, or the 2021 MSU team, who won 11 games and whose best win was over the B1G Champ* UMich team and who won their final game (without their best player and the retrospective de facto Heisman winner) against the ACC champ (and who would have made the playoff if the 12-team format was alive then)?

They can’t change their conference schedule. It’s set 3-4 years in advance. The non con was of course a cupcake but 98% of schools have cupcake non cons. Indiana had a favorable schedule. It’s not their fault 2 8 win teams regressed as did the 2 teams in the national championship game the year prior. By all metrics they were a top 10 team. FPI, SOR, GC all of that. They did what they had to do to be invited and they deserved it. End of discussion

You should specify years as 2022. Of course knows who your talking about, but its annoying that TCU gets characterized as garbage forever because of that game. In all reality 2022 Georgia is arguably the best team in program history - certainly top 2. By comparison 2022 TCU isnt even top 5 in the last 20 years. In many ways it feels like 2022 TCU got favored for the playoffs because of how often they got shafted in previous post season.

As those of us from the big ten have said, IUs SOS was awful. The big ten as a conference is very weak outside of Oregon and OSU. This isn't what a playoff game should have looked like. Very disappointing on the entertainment side of things. And if Cig is going to talk ish, he's gotta learn to eat it when he loses. They played two hard games all year, and got handled in both of them.
