When trucks race into a truck stops to try and find parking...CRASHES HAPPEN. See it here as it happened. Also, while on a trip we encounter a truck with his tail-lights out and attempt to contact him on his CB Radio. All this and much more on Adventures in Trucking!

Mr. Jack of Indiana, For some reason I started looking for truck driving videos... maybe because commercials for the local truck driving school, that promises proficiency behind the wheel and a job within 30 days (at $4K!)... but I've happened upon yours. I'll never become a truck driver...the life on the road and the chance to see .. .Alabama and suburban Atlanta traffic...are completely outweighed by knowing drivers have to drive Donner Pass in the wintertime and knowing it might take more that a month of training to back an 18-wheeler with pinpoint accuracy into a loading dock. You seem to enjoy what you do, and you seem to enjoy taking us along the ride. You've distilled the experience for me. :D

Nice videos! I always enjoy them,,Ashame how the industry changed since 92 when I went solo OTR! , I learned at 15 yrs old in 85 from Uncle, , the RADIO was your lifeline, every driver used it, now wit about 25yrs under my belt nothin shocks me.Its a cut throat industry & everybodys out for themselves, theres no brotherhood, drivers helping others etc! Be safe Indiana Jack...

when i was working as a temporary employee, before i even started driving, i worked at a Shopco warehouse, loading and unloading trailers. you wouldn't believe how they stuffed those loads. every nook and cranny was stuff with some item. wasn't like the "nice" distinct loads i use to carry. :)

YO! Indiana Jack! I used to work at a warehouse in Phoenix, AZ and load boxes onto trucks by hand in teams of two persons. The loading dock had a capacity of about ten truck traiilers and we used to load on our 8 hour shift before the warehouse complex locked up at 5 PM when everyone left for home. I worked at that place for about a year after which the warehouse shut down. This was during the mid 90's and was the last time I ever worked as a truck loader. The place was actually in Tempe, AZ and we used to load boxes of merchandise for Macy's under the Federated Logistics corporation. That was a tough fast-paced job to handle, especially in the hot summer! Luckily we had huge fans on the dock to cool us a little, but still, it wasn't sufficient to help cool us down. It was a Mon-Fri operation but sometimes we had to work on Saturdays. Hey, I got an idea, but I don't know if they'll allow you to do this: PUT A MAGNETIC LOGO ON THE SIDE OF YOUR TRUCK DOOR THAT SAYS "INDIANA JACK" ... So whenever you are on the highways, your viewers could recognize you. Take care!

Hey there Jack... Hope all is well, I just saw your latest video and was shocked to hear that you are moving on from Knight... hope to hear your plans for the future real soon, safe roads & God bless... best wishes, Carl.
@glemire7511
@glemire7511 7 жыл бұрын
Something caused him to pull the trigger on that company. I and 37,184 want to know. I can only guess that Knight won't let him do videos any more, so he left, or there was a serious incident of some kind. Last time I checked, the average driver turnover rate for OTR companies was 100% annually. #1 reason for leaving was "driver disrespected by employer". Many large employers would be sued out of existence if they treated their employees like the trucking companies treat their drivers. The 100% turnover rate should be proof enough that something should be done.
@sw9750

What's the point in speculating? Maybe Jack simply feels it's time to move on after ten years and has found a new opportunity. No harm in that.
@glemire7511
@glemire7511 7 жыл бұрын
Aren't you speculating too? It just doesn't work that way. No-one in trucking leaves a job where they're happy. Something pushed him over the edge, and we should soon learn what that was, I hope.

It might not be up for discussion and that's Jack's call. I have seen the company foul the nest every time they possibly could and that's just got to wear a guy down after a while. My company had a computer system where any department could flag a driver and before he got dispatched again he was due for a sit down with a suit of some sort to discuss the flag issue entirely. To bad there isn't a reverse side to that system where the company gets to explain why a light load suddenly is 45,000 and there isn't an empty trailer within 300 miles to be had. Unscheduled drop offs like you were a street person selling pencils, etc. Too much BS and all of it on some very lazy sliders in the company doing what ever they want to and with zero input to get it stopped, I would find someone else to work for too.

I bet the insurance company finds them 25 /75 because the guy that got hit was not in a proper parking space 25%, and of course the hitter didn't have his truck under control 75%. The saying goes, if you put your foot on the edge of the road, sooner or later it's gonna get run over. (I just made that saying up, LoL) They should have blinkers in cars that loud, too many people ride with their signals on. BTW I have been subscribed since Sept 2016 and have the records to prove it. I look forward to your videos. I know old red has way more than a million miles now.

G/L and take care of yourself. Maverick fought OSHA to keep their requirement for lifting 100 lb. + tarps. OK when young, strong, and it's a nice day. Try it on a bad day climbing on a sketchy load when it's wet/windy. BTDT for another carrier, when I had my own the tarps were all smaller. Better to drape two small ones than get hurt trying to cover it with one (or 4 vs 3 etc.).

I used to eat waffles as a kid, but today I don't really like them. They're indecisive. Now, pancakes, on the other hand, are like a conversation: I don't care how flat they are, there's always two sides to them. Serve 'em up with bacon and sausage and lots of coffee and away we go!
@rogervoss4877
@rogervoss4877 7 жыл бұрын
Now that sounds good, when the Waitress asks 'Bacon or Sausage' just say 'yes'. Now pancakes hate syrup, it just flows off a stack & doesn't sink in. If you like buttering them up have at it, for the syrup fancier a crisp waffle does the trick. Made with nice holes to fill.

Why was I not surprised that it was a Werner Ent "Big Blue Terror" driver? Maybe due to watching one pull straight forward, then back straight up into a guardrail while trying to turn around, thereby knocking their trailer bumper off? Or maybe it was the sixteen Werner mudflaps left behind by drivers backing out of a truck exit, one right after the other, all having ignored the "no trucks" signage, all following GPS and not paying attention? Naaaah.

Another reason why he/she may not have responded is that the driver may not even have had a cb in the truck. I know I've seen my fair share of drivers at truck stops where other drivers tried communicating with them to help on their backing, only to find out that the driver didn't have a cb, hence, they never knew they were being talked to.
