Here's some indoor footage when Union Station was a shopping mall. The food court occupied what was once the original train shed. maps.google.com...

I lived an hour away in a small town but came here almost every weekend from about 1989 to 1995. Always had a great time, I even skipped school a few times to go there. Lots of memories brought up, I can remember it like it was just the other day. Such a shame places like this are disappearing. Thanks for the upload. And letting me not forget my teenage days.

Thanks for posting this. I was there in 90 or 91 and there was a left-handed store. Being left-handed, I was a kid and bought a "lefty" mug in that store...which I am still drinking from today. Never have found another store like that since.

This was awesome. Thanks for posting. I came across this video because I was looking for the names of the two restaurants in the Grand Hal. I think one of them was Norman, and the other was a steakhouse. I worked at Union Station for years. I worked at Hollywood Shoppe, the NBC store, The Great Train Store and Hooters. I had a blast! really wish they would bring it back to life!

Wow this is cool. I went there a lot as a kid. I remember the the fudge store that made homemade fudge. It was so good. And I loved the model train store on the lower level.

This is why the internet is awesome. What a blast from the past. The comments are just as good too. Left handed store, the fudge making place. I loved Union Station as a kid and this video couldn't be a more accurate representation of how I remember it. Thank you!!!!!

I loved going here as a kid. The 3rd floor video arcade, the Hawaiin ice stand, The Entertainment Company, it was so much fun. Then some dipstick had to build the inferior Circle Center Mall up the street and ruin everyone's childhood.

I was 13 when this video was made.watching it makes me want to go back to that time in my life . I can't believe he didn't show the Midway, it would have been cool to see all the old video games.Do you all remember the shooting gallery? That was so cool , and how about the train store that had the huge display of model trains, and miniature building's .I could look at it for hours. If I remember correctly the jelly belly candy store was right next to the train store.

That was one of the greatest arcades I've ever been to. Had Time Killers too, a rarity of itself. Double Dragon 1-3, all MK, all Street Fighter, NBA Jams, the Blitz games, Arch Rivals, had it all man. The virtual Star Trek ride.

Thanks for this, this is my childhood as I was 12/13 years old in 1993. I was in Union Station constantly during my youth, mainly the arcade section at the top. My Aunt used to take me to the Haunted Train, dark and scary as hell.

That arcade was stellar, though I was glad to see TUS like this, it would have been double great to see just a section of that enormous arcade.

I grew up in the 80s in Carmel and used to visit Union Station a lot. Moved away and came back for a band contest 30 years later in 2024 and stayed at Union Station which is now Crown Plaza Hotel. It's a surreal experience walking through the hotel remembering it as the mall that it used to be.

My grandparents used to take me here as a kid. I LOVED the magic store and the arcade. I put at least $100 (of their money, I sucked) into that machine. It was also my first hooters experience which was both wonderful and odd for an eleven year old being escorted by elderly people.

I went there in the early 90's with my mom, my sister, and my brother. I think I got a couple of post cards that had a movie poster on each one. I know one had the 1966 Batman movie. It was a rack that had post cards with a movie poster on it. I don't remember the name of the store. I came back on a class trip to Indianapolis. but I did not buy anything. I haven't the foggiest idea why I didn't buy anything at that mall. Or anywhere in Indianapolis.

I used to buy candy and balloons at one of the shops around Easter for my nephews. 🤗🤗🤗 And my school had a Post Prom party at the arcade there, on the third floor (?), in 1989.

I was in Union Station in 1953 / 1954 when a few trains were still coming through....Remember when the remodel was completed and actually DESTROYED may features of real history for the sake of a buck ......Ate at Norman's many times before a Colts game.....

Want some nostal hardcore? A family friend owned and operated the Hawaiian Shaved ICE booth. And i'm pretty sure my dad is at least 2 of these shots in this video though its unconfirmed and I was about 6 or 7 at the time. Ok so the stage 93.1 with the balloons was leftover from November show that hosted Jerry Lewis. I only remember that because at the time of the performance my dad and I watched it from the Miniature golf course balcony at union station. I still remember the song!!!!
