are you being foolish? - Nothing good can come from India getting too involved in Bangladesh - especially when you consider it is a majority Muslim country and the current BJP is not very friendly to Muslims. Zakaria is not saying stay out - he is saying - let Bangladesh sort it out. Ofc, take sides at your own peril. - Being friends with Pakistan - he says it is not realistic - but - it would be a great benefit to India. . . this is for sure. - Mov away from Russia - what advantage is there to aligning with Russia. . . especially since they are so close to China and DPRK. These are not profitable friends. 'Strategic reorientation' is not move away. . . - Ignore Canada - I think what he saying is to solve the issue and 'compartmentalize' and be diplomatic. . . Nothing there is American - it's all pro-India. Did you even understand what Zakaria is saying?

It is doing everything right except electing Trump, India should become puppet of America, America can initiate wars throughtout the world and have a no negotiating approach but India should show big heart and act brotherly with Pakistan Bangladesh. Everything is already green in America, so America has nothing much to do in climate change, China India Phillipines should do the most. The most important similarity Fareed pointed out is that both Nehru and Modi during the initial years tried to pacify China and be friendly to them until they both saw the PLA at the same border. Then he also mentions the same foreign policy of non alignment or friends with all by both Nehru and Modi which is not practical though the 'foreign office babus' assume it is. It is USA that can help India become a great power by sharing and supporting; not Russia (who themselves are struggling) nor China (who will never let India progress nor has much to give or offer to India). As far as Russian weapons go, we all know they don't stand up to the levels of western technology or innovation. So why doesn't India just align with US and Japan at least; forget Europe so that it can become a world power by 2035 instead of 2055!

That means Democrats who think like him will likely see the loss as temporary. 2. India - Fareed never was a fan of Modi and hence lacks balance on Indian politics. Today, Russians are owned by the Chinese - If you are stuck in the old world, neither the Russians nor the Chinese are going to come to your aid. @@deccanheart Yes, you are right-Fareed is a gentleman, no doubt about it. Of course, what Fareed says about Trump is also correct. However, what Fareed missed is highlighting similar issues on the Democratic Party's side. If we watch CNN, most of the blame is directed at the Republican side, with very little criticism of the Democratic Party. On the other hand, if we watch Fox News, most of the blame is directed at the Democratic side, with less criticism of the Republican Party. In the end, both parties spend billions of dollars and engage in more conflicts than efforts to help the poorest people in the USA.
