It's just the use of sticks, Krishna dances always include sticks, dandiya is north Indian version whereas kolatam is South Indian version

I think it is telling about the defeat of Ravan by the great lord Ram , which is shown so delicately as well as it also tells to the future about ram and ashurs... we now were listening to them and watching them through dance we can show beautiful stories through mudras and hastas ... When you watch it carefully you will know the deep meaning of this beautiful dance piece , so grateful to hve this dancers , ❤️

This was a really good choreo! Extremely clean formations and beautiful postures! One cannot describe the beauty and grace with which each and everyone performed! Also, would like to make a small suggestion, there is a story in the dance if I am not wrong.. Is there a possibility that everytime you upload these performances, you also give the background story so that the viewer can understand the performance along with appreciating the moves? Because it becomes like cherry on the top of a yummy cake if one knows the meaning or background story. Dances from india are rarely just dance moves. It also tells stories. So it would be great if you could do so!! Once again, wonderful performance!

The story in the beginning is how Ram defeated the ten-headed demon Raavan, and is the centerpiece of the Hindu Epic Ramayana. It symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, light over dark, and hence is a story commonly told during this current festive season in the Hindu Calendar, specifically during Diwali (the festival of lights) which is today. The dancers in the beginning are depicting preparation for diwali and this festive season, show that a deep is being lit, and are recounting the story of Durga and Mahishasura as well as Ram and Raavan (both stories of the triumph of good over evil) through dance. After the epic battle is done, the dancers dance with dandiya and celebrate the joyous and festive time.
