Binte Abbas: Thank you for clarifying the importance of Urdu, the very essence of Pakistan. It is the national language of Pakistan for a reason.....it connects the rest of the regional languages together to make a bond called Pakistan. Sanmeet Singh of Punjabi Reel tries to overly exert the importance of one regional language ie Punjabi and seems to be irked that it is not being given its due, he is wrong because it is being given its due. Lets not forget that it was non Punjabis that worked day and night for the creation of Pakistan. Jinnah was not a Punjabi and neither did he speak a word of it!!!

I’ll be brutally honest. I’m a pashtoon. Neve thought of Punjabis as jahils. Based on my experience it is often a small portion but still a sizable portion of Pakistani Punjabis who often prefer to speak to their kids in Urdu. This is so much more common among Punjabis compared to other ethnicities who insist on speaking their own languages at home. It’s just my opinion based on my observation. Of course I may be totally wrong but it’s what I’ve noticed. Good to see the pride in Punjabi being revived through music.

Yes this is true bro but it is happens in a big cities not in villages and towns. The trend of urdu is in big cities of Punjab. But in cities there are different people lives. Who are Punjabi they speaks punjabi in reletives and friends but not with kids because their course and books is in urdu and English medium. Punjabi is not taught in Punjab as compulsory subject. So when these kids becomes youngsters then they are not ables to speak in Punjabi and they knows Punjabi which learn from Family gathering. That is the reason Punjabi is not implement properly in Punjab. Punjab Government should gave importance to Punjabi. Punjabi should be compulsory in Punjab.
