You could eat the sides for BBQ. Barbecue beans, coleslaw, macaroni & cheese, and corn on the cob with butter! I’m sure others can add to the list. For a Mexican or TexMex, ask the locals for a good place to go!!! I hope you get to visit Texas!

My dad instilled in his kids that it was more important to be a Texan than an American. When Queen Elizabeth visited in the '90's she said, paraphrasing, that the citizens of no other state had such fierce loyalty & pride in their state & that they felt sorry for people that weren't born a Texan. One of my paternal ancestors died at the Alamo, a young man named Calvin Albert Grimes.
