problem today is kids brought up listening to synthesised garbage. So glad I was a kid in the 60's and 70's. Try him with Led Zeplins Stairway to Heaven, Procal Harems Whiter Shade of Pale, Eric Burden and the Animals House of the Rising Sun or Moody Blues Nights in white Satin. Best of the best. If he doesnt appreciate them, there is no hope for him.

He's just TOO young to appreciate greatness! I was 5th grade (1976 or 77) when a boy in our class brought a tape player and a Queen cassette(his brother's) to school and said,"You guys HAVE to hear this." By the end of the school day, our whole class was SUPER Queen fans! And have been ever since! This is talent that is NOT seen today. I feel bad. The younger generations are getting crap that's CALLED music thrown at them. But its just crap.

A song like Bohemian Rhapsody isn’t for everyone, it depends on what kind of music you’re drawn to. (This coming from a hardcore Freddie Mercury fan.) You should just pick some Queen songs to try with him that are of different styles… because that’s what’s so great about them, they cover every style you can think of. Maybe try: “Killer Queen” “Under Pressure” “Good Old Fashioned LoverBoy” “Another One Bites The Dust” “Invisible Man” “You’re My Best Friend” “Spread Your Wings” “Bicycle Race” “ ‘39” “One Vision” “Radio GaGa” “Tear it Up” From Freddie’s solo Mr. Bad Guy album: “I Was Born To Love You” “Mr. Bad Guy” “Living On My Own” (The 1985 ORIGINAL)
@thomastimlin1724Ай бұрын
🤣You expect a kid who is Sesame Street age to understand Queen? "One of these things just doesn't belong here..." Maybe some young Michael Jackson/Jackson Five Music would be more suitable...this is proof that a young child needs harmony and melody, and simple direct music that they can understand on their level, and move their feet, clap their hands and move their body to....

That's the thing about most groups from the 1960's, 70's, 80's, the clothes were costumes, the concerts were stage shows,.the more wild the costumes, the more flamboyant, and then groups like Kiss, all kinds of explosions, fire on stage, Gene Simmons use to breathe fire for crying out loud, it was a circus experience,. Earth Wind and Fire, ELO(Electric Light Orchestra),..everybody had their own signature thing they were known for, Parliament Funkadelics, ohh my God, talk about wild, Pink Floyd, didn't have outlandish costumes, huh, but if you went to their shows, you were likely to see giant flying pigs,..Elton John, probably the most outlandish of them all, it was all a show, groups now, rappers and rockers alike, just show up on stage in t-shirt and jeans,..when went to shows back then, we didn't know what we were gonna see them come out in, and the plus about it was we were treated to extraordinary musicians, please let little man see and hear Ballroom Blitz by Sweet, crazy costumes, mad crazy fun song,..and Edgar Winter's Frankenstein, let him hear the studio version, then the live, and of course, do let him get into Rush, Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions, Analog Kid, Free Will(crazy base groove and guitar halfway through), enjoy, the more he hears, the more he'll get interested, he's a cute kid, Godspeed, Peace ✌

To all the people in the comments saying that he's just too young to appreciate the greatness. I don't think so, people of any age can appreciate music for what it is, and he simply doesn't like the song. I'm 14 years old, I never really liked Bohemian Rhapsody, or any rock for that matter. And for everyone saying that it's just because he was raised listening to "garbage music," it's not. I feel the same way about the song that he does, and I know for a fact that I was not raised on trash, I've been growing up listening to rock, because that's all my mother listens to, I just never developed a taste for it.
@FluffySylveonBoiАй бұрын
Sad thing is, today's generation really grows up on trash music. Not all but most. That is why they can't appreciate art. But there are exceptions, people who just naturally don't like this genre ever and that is fine. But the majority of young people today listen some random synthesized rap about drugs, shooting and sex, not played with real instruments in most cases, edited voice etc. Not many of these songs show real emotions, only nonsense about how to be a good gangsta and enjoy fast life etc. Maybe Bohemian Rhapsody won't cut it this time, but try other songs from that era, from other bands, some may resonate.
