In Europe there has always been a desire to preserve historical sites. Probably because so many were destroyed during the various wars here. In London any new developments have to include an archaeological review in case there maybe historical sites found during a build. They have the power to halt construction if something is found so that items can be removed first.

My impression as a Norwegian is that many people do not want to live in big cities, and I think that applies to several countries. We can live good lives in small towns. There are jobs for us here, and we have everything we need, including restaurants and theater buildings. In addition, we have close access to nature, which is very important to us. The Internet has made it easier to live decentralized, and still be in touch with the world. We don't need skyscrapers. If they want it in our capital, Oslo - so be it. Live with it, if that's what you prefer.

You should look at videos of Rotterdam, Europe’s biggest harbor. In World War II, the city center was destroyed by German bombardement. They have skyscrapers designed by famous architects.

Fun fact: Træ=wood With a height of 78 meters and 20 floors, the upcoming office building 'TRÆ' will be Denmark's tallest wooden building. The high-rise, which is being built in Aarhus' south harbor quarter by the pension company PFA, will test new methods for recycling wood, glass and used wind turbine blades The first excavators have just started the construction of the ground-breaking construction, which will consist of, among other things, recycled wood and other sustainable materials. TRÆ will be a unique construction, where we try to rethink the entire construction process. We will build a high-rise building where we try to replace traditional materials such as steel and concrete with climate-friendly alternatives such as wood. The construction industry accounts for 30 percent of CO2 emissions in Denmark, and as the country's largest real estate investor, I believe that we have an obligation to find new methods to reuse materials and build more climate-friendly," says property director at PFA, Michael Bruhn, in a press release.
