Indiara Sfair's Improvisation | Diatonic Harmonica | Pranav Pandya

Indiara is one of my most favourite harmonica players. This is my amateur attempt at one of her most famous harmonica songs. I can't thank her enough for sharing the tabs!
Originally played in Cm on a Bb Marine Band in third position, in this video I play it in Bm on a Crossover Key of A, in 3rd position since I don't have a Bb harmonica, and the nearest key I have is A.

@@pranavpandya48 bhaiya, main bend karne ka try kar raha hoon (1,3,4) bend ho jaata hai but consistent nahi hai and awaaz bahot flat aati hai.. GALAT toh nahi kar raha?? (practice se ho jayega?) and 2 draw toh bilkul bend nahi hota.. (koi tips?) special 20 key C

For me, it took some 6 months to get my bends good enough. So give it some time and of course, regular practice. Check if your special 20 has come with a 30 days free trial of bluesharmonica.com That site really helped me in my beginning.

Of course! You will need to transpose the original backing track accordingly. 2 semitones up, if I'm not mistaken.

I am glad you liked it. If you want to play blues, marine band deluxe is great (6-7 thousand). If you want to play melodies, jazz, you can get hohner golden melody (4-5 thousand). If you want a nice budget diatonic harmonica, you can buy easttop (under 1500).

@@BlackPanther-lx9we Indiara plays marine band classic (MB 1896). If you're sure you want to learn it with dedication, invest in MB Deluxe, MB Crossover(my fav) or Golden Melody. Otherwise go for easttop.

@@liftingweights No, our harmonicas are different. Although both are manufactured by Hohner in Germany. Her harmonica is Hohner Marine Band 1896, where as mine is Hohner Marine Band Crossover. I didn't have a Bb harmonica, so I had to transpose the backing track to play my A harmonica on it. You should find the link to the backing track in my video's description.

Hey dude! I commented on your videos a while ago. I keep checking in from time to time, it's a delight to listen to your cover. Now that I have quite a lot of practice in, I am now able to play this myself. But when I looked to play along with the backing track, I found that Indira has trimmed out few 5-7 seconds from the linked backing track, just before the cymbal drop near the end. I noticed that you too have the same backing track. Did you also trim it?

I have seen the original version of Indiara's improvisation and that really fascinated me and you played it excellently as well. @@nikhilpandey8152 I started with a C harmonica and bought an A next. I too want a Bb now. However, keys don't really matter in harmonicas. You should focus more on your bending/overbending/vibrato/tremolo skills rather than keys. E.g. I didn't have a Bb but my bending was good enough for this recording so I played the A harp for this song. I just had to change the pitch of backing track in Audacity, that's all. Bb would be a good buy, but stay focused on expanding skill set alongwith harmonica set.

Rajesh Kumar Vault isn't exactly professional. But if it helps, even my first harmoica was hohner silver star, which is by no means better than vault. Such harmoicas can be used to test the water. Later you can buy expensive harmoicas once you are sure you wanna play it. Imagine : a professional keyboard will cost you like 1,00,000/- rs. But a professional diatonic harmoica - best in class- can be bought under rs 5000/-. So for now use vault, and once you're sure to play harmoica, upgrade!
