Excellent documentary! I feel bad she had such an unstable and abusive childhood. She wanted to be noticed and praised, and then when she got famous and in demand, she turned into a vivacious party girl, going through many parties and men. She could never feel stability, and she was overly restless. Her father was a shrew, but she still was devoted to him. She was never happy too long, cause I believe her nerves were to shattered, to function normally for a length of time. Her later life was more peaceful, and she kept up with her doctor and time with her sons. RIP Clara. 😌🌹🌹🙏

I am so amazed at the depth of your research, the pictures/videos that I have never seen before in any biography and the balanced and honest way you present the information in every one of your videos! I love that you don't ignore the salacious but don't cave into it. You treat all of these people as people, not subjects, and respect them in a way that makes it so pleasurable to watch. In each video you do, I learn something new about people and events that I have spent decades obsessed with. You are a true Gem.

❤❤ Wow! You’ve created another well done, well researched KZbin documentary! Thank you! One very minor correction I have is in the pronunciation of a well known reporter’s first name. Miss Rogers-St. John’s first name is pronounced Uh-dell’uh, with emphasis on the second syllable - just as the modern day British singer’s first name Adele is proniu uh-dell’. Now, concerning your new documentary, most movie fans are familiar with this popular 1920s-1930s film actress only through her name (Clara Bow); her nickname (The It Girl); and by having seen numerous black & white still images …maybe even one or two of her movies . However, before watching your documentary, I - and I bet most people - knew very little about the troubled, lonely life of Clara Bow, a beautiful, complex woman who, despite a troubled life, possessed what the movie moguls of her day called “it”- what we now call charisma, an indescribable quality, even beyond her natural talent and beauty. People were drawn to her, yet she never found true happiness and peace in her real life. What a deeply moving life story. Again, thank you for this thoughtful film about a woman whose gifts were never fully appreciated.

To me she's very basic looking. I don't understand the phenomena except that she was willing to do things most women weren't at the time, on film. Maybe she had a personality that made her interesting that is difficult to see today in silent films.
@daryljackson34306 ай бұрын
She was not willing at the start of her career. Her father sexually abused her so maybe that’s why she threw herself at men. The men in Hollywood were predators and didn’t just abuse women they also abused child actors and they didn’t throw themselves at men. I understand you don’t think she had it but she made the men in Hollywood loads of money for them. She didn’t love herself or think she was beautiful.
