I am from Silchar living in sweden, and a Manipuri. Recently Biren, CM of Manipur wanted to meet Home Minister, Amit shah, after former’s convoy was attacked while travelling to Jiribam from Imphal Valley to meet displaced people. Home Minister in Delhi refuged the meeting and Biren has to come to the Assam Chief Minister Hemanta, to bring this through him. It was utter negligence from Center, and spiralling beyond control. They have no faith in the BJP leadership of the state. Biren and Center are to be blamed. Biren was so immature at the beginning with the bill approval and not take precautions what to come. He forgot how Manipur was decades ago and such bill brings the old rivalry back. He then uses his own army AT, which again fuels the Kukis. On the other hand, AR are helping Kukis in hills, which fuels Meitei against the government. IMO, there is a nexus on drugs which is in rumours used by ruling elites to generate revenue. So both the governments ( Center and state ) can not take any bold steps and playing ping-pong from both the sides.
