Should Marathi Indians claim to be Pakistani Hindus ?

@@amitu1943 Indian muslims - though may have documents - are protesting because they bill is itself discriminatory in nature and is a concrete step(concrete because it passed into law what was otherwise alleged unofficial discrimination before) towards Hindu Rashtra. For observer, if persecuted minorities have to be sheltered, why not muslim minorities in SriLanka or Bhutanese Christians? Why single out one community only? CAB can only be fully understood in the light of NRC in Assam. Both communities find themselves outside the official list of the 1.9 million but Govt wants to only regularize bengali hindus. Hence CAB had to be drafted as "persecuted hindus, buddhists, christians, sikhs". Hence, what Indian muslims are protesting is not to allow illegal muslims the same right rather what they are protesting is the discriminatory way in which one community is kept out into the amendment of the definition of Citizenship. They smell the secular character further being eroded. Also, I agree with Ashwin s that many poor indian muslims will not have documents and will find it hard to explain they are not foreigners, would lead to mistakes, harassment, fear mongering, people taking advantage of this to threaten others i.e second class citizens to poor muslims who may have been in India since 30 years but without a piece of paper.
