For Delhi to get rid of the air pollution what it needs are the incineration plants and not open dump grounds or landfills and to solve the water crisis Delhi needs to recycle water for which Delhi needs sewage treatment plants also there is a need to be a push towards renewable energy and biofuels ! .... all these solutions together with the policy change can bring air and water pollution under control in the NCR and also reduce the water scarcity problem .... 🙏 ....

I know my comment won't change anything and people might start calling me anti bjp or whatever but Govt should remove illegal encroachment around roads and green areas, it clean the water bodies like rivers, ponds, lakes, should protect urban forests and aravallis which are in danger from rapid urbanization and illegal mining in Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Rajasthan. And above all instead of cutting more trees and making new roads you guys should invest more in renewable energy and public transport. One metro can carry 3k people on an average while a bus can also carry 50+ people but one private car carries only 2 people max. Govt should also on state and federal level run buses in Corporate campuses like Uber shuttle for govt and private offices. It will not only help with vehicular emissions and air pollution but will also help with traffic congestion and fuel import. But of course it's India and not China or some European nation hence it's never gonna happen.

Also four vehicles per family must be restricted. First ask the vehicle buyers where they will park their vehicles. Specific places for Rehdi. Lottery system for new vehicle purchase. Total ban in animal driven vehicles. GPS on all non-private vehicles.

It is not just about roads- it is about continuous local migration from poorer neighboring states, lifestyle and uncleanly habits of people, solid waste and sewage management, ooor infrastructure planning (like mesh of overhead electrical wiring), lack of both resources and commitment for regular maintenance and vigilance, lack of open public spaces, lack of contiguous land in a congested brownfield city needed for acquisition for any big comprehensive project and legalities and toxic political interventions obstructing any such effort and ignorance on part of people whose cooperation is needed instead being led by politically and geopolitically motivated aspersions into taking to roads in the name of protest and indulging in anarchic mob violence jeopardising law and order stability that further complicates materialisation of projects. Old Delhi needs block by block demolition (except for places of worship and heritage buildings) and redevelopment from scratch. Cosmetic short term makeovers and shortcuts won't yield austainable result and would be consumed by bad habits and lack of maintenance. Either build a greenfield city and shift Delhi's population there or go for block by block demolition and redevelopment.

The way to partially solve the population problem can be to ban the movement of any petrol/diesel vehicle in the NCR . With autos running on gas or electric three wheelers and electric or hydrogen cars and buses - Delhi s pollution can be brought down considerably in 5 years . The main problem though- is stubble burning in UP and Haryana . Once farmers can be persuaded to make producrs like ethanol or something out of stubble which can be sold in the market - that part of the problem should also be solved. We need strong political will to work on solutions.
