I voted for bjp. You are not doing anything great other than taxing. I regret supporting bjp. I pay direct tax around 15%. And lots of inderect tax including for my savings investment. Here after paying so much tax we don't depend on government hospitals, government schools, house rent and grocery expenses increasing every year. Not bringing GST for petrol diesel and blame GST council for this alone. I planned to get a loan to get a house and then the state and central charge around 11% and again additional charges from bank so dropped the plan itself. A credit card emi interest has GST. All many small small things you tax. She really doesn't know what a middle class is going through.

The new budget is actually great for the middle class. They have increased the income tax slabs by a lot. First of all, I hope you know that you are paying 15% tax for only dor the income which is between 10-12 lakhs, which is at most 2 lakhs for this slab. So 15% of 2 lakhs, which is roughly ₹30k 10% income tax for your income which is better 7 lakh and 10 lakh. Which is 3 lakhs. 10% of 3 lakhs is another 30K. 5% tax on your income which is between 3 and 7 lakhs (7-3 lakh, is 4 lakhs) 5% of 4 lakhs is 20K. For your rest of the income which is below 3 lakhs you don't need to pay any taxes. Mind you this is without applying standard deduction of 1.25 lakhs. If you apply that than you might even skip a whole income tax slab. So at most the income tax that you'll pay if you are earning between 10 lakhs and 12 lakhs is 80K, and this is assuming you don't apply a standard deduction of 1.25 lakhs to your income. You are actually paying very less income tax compared to previous years, and certainly not 15% of your income as income tax. I have seen many people online here who don't even understand the concept of income tax slab and fall prey to all the media propaganda bullshit. I sincerely hope you are not one of them. If you are actually earning more than 12 lakhs, then you are not even a middle class person. It's considered as a legit lower end of High class in India. In which case, you will be taxed higher (but not too much). The 30% income tax is only for the slab of income which is higher than 20 lakhs. Say you earn 22 lakhs, then you will only be paying 30% income tax on the income which is higher than 20 lakhs (which is 2 lakhs, 22 lakhs -20 lakhs).

Ma’am as a middle class person I have been paying taxes honestly however when I education for my kid I have to go to private schools, similar situation for colleges, for medical we are forced to go to private again. I need not talk about cleanliness, hygiene and infrastructure which is being improved for ever but it’s far behind the what we need. It’s monsoons and with just 30 minutes of rain the city’s roads get choked and again it’s the middle class which has to keep patiently waiting for hours in traffic jams. Being a “So called middle class” i pay 50Lakhs tax per year where I didn’t even study and develop my skills from a govt run educational institution. But I do care of the country’s development which is why I am a dedicated tax payer over years. But this system of simplification totally removed options like 80c, home loan exemption etc of saving taxes. The old tax regime accounted for HRA which constitute 20-25% of your salary, while the new tax regime even disallows that and compute gross salary in its entirety. I had been a BJP voter as well. But I think its high time the middle class taxpayers unite . 2% of the population is paying very high taxes and take the burden of the entire population. The solution is not to impose further taxes on the same 2% but bring more people within the tax bracket and distribute tax liability. Why does a person with 15L income taking care of his family need to pay 30% tax and a person with 1cr agricultural income pay no tax ? Why with purchasing power of rupee decreasing by almost 50% in 10 years (basic commodities costs double within 10 years),the tax brackets are not adjusted accordingly? As i earn 15L and pay 30% tax already and again i have to pay tax for each and everything i buy... then how can i pay for hospitals and for my kids education... you are not even providing healthcare and education as like other countries when they pay good tax.. then where was all our money???? How do all politicians are so rich... frok whose money Modi is wearing all expensive dresses... just a shit government in India.. young guys better go out of country and live a good life. Even though you pay tax there they will provide a good environment for sure...

Leave my salary with me, so that when I go for my child's higher education, I don't have to go for loan and pay interest, when I wish to build a small house for myself, I can do it without borrowed money from bank and paying huge emis. The main reason she did not contested in elections is because she is much aware of the fact that she doesn't even get deposite. There is no mercy for for middle class person who recently started earning. She thinks that everyone earning more than 10Lak is a rich person and puts tax both source and expenses. Reduced benefit for interest on Housing loan, Life Insurance is taxable now, Dividend earned in taxable by payee earlier companies have to bear it, second house is luxury now, reduced corporate taxes and added more to middle class for compensation, above all interest received from Income Tax dept is now part of your income. Height of blood sucking. It's only a small part of a huge list.
