I was definitely called to be a lawyer. Not because I enjoy arguing, but because I'm an overhinker. Growing up, I was frequently told that I "read into things too much" because I wouldn't accept surface level explanations for things. I've always had an ability to sense things on a deeper level and a willingness to explore more. This is exactly what you have to do as a lawyer where you do extensive strategy and analysis. Practicing law is an outlet for my incredibly active mind. I do also like seeing justice served and advocating for the right thing.

I was a first responder for 48 years. I serviced 28 years in law enforcement 11 years as a volunteer firefighter and 26 years as an EMT. My EMT spanded over both law enforcement and firefighter. I am now 74 and disabled but I am not sure how I can service God now. I am having a hard time finding a truth teaching congregation.

I feel like my main calling is to write books. However, I can't make money just writing. My current job that pays my bills is making me beyond miserable. Im trying to build youtube channels so i can eventually get out from under that. Im also actively looking for a new job, but im so so so so so so burnt out dealing with people. I am not a people person. I care about people and want to change lives for the better, but i can't handle it doing it directly anymore. I can't handle retail anymore or constant interaction with people. I can't figure out why i feel this way and so burnt out. i cant find a job that i will enjoy until my youtube channels take off to become my own boss. I feel very distraught and I can't find a solution. I technically walked out of my job the last day i worked. I just barely managed to make myself go back to work last second when i returned to the building to get my stuff to leave. I dont know what to do anymore. I was so clear on my path until cirumstances led me to this job. Im trying to find something new that won't put me in front of people that treat me so horribly every single day.

Why are you concerned about money? Why does your calling need to be tied to finances? If you know you're called to write, Why are you trying to birth an Ishmael on youtube? If you believe you are called to write, then write. Whether it makes money or not, it is worship and you should find joy in that. When you stop trying to do things your way, God will bless you his way.

Complaining can hold a person up more than what they think the problem is. KZbin is a fantasy for most people. Find a way to be grateful where God has placed you. Be grateful for your job and ignore the negativity around you or just get a new job but be JOYFUL in whatever way you choose. You’re responsible for more of your own happiness in Christ than you give yourself credit for. Dig deep in the word of God and search out the answers to the real questions deep inside you and Jesus will be faithful to reveal to you exactly what you need. 🙏 Be strong in the Lord and let the joy of the Lord be your strength!

I truly know how you feel. I avoid retail like the plague for that very reason. I don’t have much wisdom to offer, but the little advice i do have is maybe look into working at a warehouse or fulfillment center just until u find the real place u want to be. Most warehouses pay fair enough and u don’t typically deal with more than a handful of people a day. I work for Amazon in count for ICQA department, it’s the least physical if you need something easier on the body. One thing I do when applying for other jobs, is to ask the Lord to close every door that he doesn’t want me to go through to open only the door that he does. I always end up where I’m supposed to be… In fact a lot of times I end up staying longer than I should. My friend may the Lord give you peace and strength and direction in the name of Jesus amen.

Not sure how the translation John uses can get all of that that out of these verses: ESV Galatians 6:2-5 "2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load."

John said, "...out of The Message 'paraphrase'..." which is a key distinction I can appreciate-and I'm sure you do too... 😉
@remarkable9379 ай бұрын
@@natejohnson91 It is one heck of a paraphrase LOL
@YellowGiant9 ай бұрын
@remarkable937 the message takes context from all passages of the bible to create their paraphrase. Its not a translation, but a tool to get an insight into the depth of teaching. Definitely not infallible though
