Also, I think the female bassist you’re talking about is named India! They didn’t part ways, but she only seems to play selected shows in UK and Europe with them these days! Sadly, the excellent drummer here just announced he is leaving the band after 10 years😢 And FINALLY, spot on about John Martyn connection. Ben was definitely influenced by him and has sad so on many occasions! Great review, thanks for doing this great review!

Finally, loved the video and would love to see more Ben Howard reviews! Especially something from Noonday Dream because of how big the band was when they were touring that album etc. would be great to hear your guys’ take on the production elements there!

got to meet Ben and the crew this summer during calgary and edmonton folk fest! Mickey and him were lovely and super chill. First time, they ended up getting kicked off stage because they played past their time (which they didnt but f that festival lol) and Ben ran up to me after the night was over while most people were leaving. I was leaning on the fence infront of the stage, and he tapped me on the shoulder. asked if i wanted an autograph and I turned over and was too shocked to say anything but WHAT? and was kicking myself in the teeth over it every day till I got to see him in Edmonton and he just came out the side after his set with a beer and talked to some of us for a good while and laughed about how I acted in Calgary lol. Was a nice feeling to know your favorite artist is a chill guy!

Hi, India Bourne, who is only seen fleetingly in the video, plays cello, she has been playing with Ben before he had a band. Mickey Smith is the base player, he also has his own band A Blaze of Feather.
