Hi Annie! Your friend Lisa here! The trick to air dry clay (or even the type you fire) is to have it dry slowly. If your piece is small put it in a plastic container (like Tupperware) make sure it's much larger than the item. Cover it loosely. It will take a bit longer to dry but won't crack. Larger pieces I put a damp paper towel over it and let it dry that way. You can remoisten the towel periodically if it's a warm day. If you do end up having it crack a bit, remember you can fill those cracks with some wet clay and smooth it in with damp fingers or a tool.😉🤟
@IndieAnnieJones12 жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness Lisa! You are my hero. I have to try these techniques for the air dry clay. That is absolutely true. The slower that it takes to dry it shouldn't crack. I just worry with the amount of moisture and humidity in South Florida if that's what also causes the crackage crackage. I guess that's the word. Anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you so much. Not just for your great tips but also for all of your kindness throughout all of my videos. You always leave the sweetest comments. God bless!

I had to laugh about the pronunciation for "bough"! It's actually pronounced, "bow".....okay, okay...really as in..... BOW-WOW, or as in "bow before the Queen". The bough for your mirror turned out very nice, by the way! I really liked the glass bottles, too. Especially the white one.....but my big takeaway from this? The dress form! Who knew!!! I don't use Palmolive but I may have to try it to gain an empty bottle!

I prefer to use foam clay, although it takes a little longer to dry, it does not crack whenever. I've used air dry clay no matter what I've tried to use it with. It always seems to crack and become very brittle. I have foam clay in my Amazon shop so you can check it out. It's not expensive at all

To get labels off glass put in sink and cover with Hot water a dash of dawn and about a 1/2 cup baking soda. Be sure you’ve got space for foaming in sink and pour in vinegar. Let soak about hour. I did a whole sink full of wine bottles and shifted them every so often. They came out great no residue no pieces of labels nothing. Just rinse off and clean labels from sink. PRESTO. ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁

Annie, you must be involved in some type of witchery! The magic spell you used on these trash to treasures are phenomenal. I would never guess that dress form was a Palmolive bottle. And OMG, that swag made out of the pool noodle - BOOM - my brain just exploded with how gorgeous that was. How did you attach it to the mirror - what helps the noodle keep that arch? And finally, the bottle with the moulds was so pretty. I’m seriously going to Goodwill today to search for a large urn or vase.usually they have such hideous designs on them, I can’t see something pretty in my head. But you have show me so much. You are truly talented. You are literally going to take KZbin by storm and your subscribers will skyrocket! Word travels fast, so let’s get Annie’s name out there, subbies! ~ Linda 💕🥰

Aww thanks so much Mama!!! The pool noodle - i should have wshown how i attached it to the mirror - I cut one side of the noodle down the middle.
