Indie Mixtape is the go-to for all things indie music. We serve as a funnel to make sure that only the best music -- new and old -- is delivered directly to the people who care the most.
Indie is more than a music genre. It's a sensibility. The indie fan may be overlooked in our current cultural climate, but they're alive and well -- going to see live music, visiting art galleries, and prioritizing substance over facade. This is for you.

Yes real music. JAMC are very expressive, their work is full yearning, desire etc but covered with huge guitar chords & feed-back, it sounds quite aggressive, defensive even & I think that's the point, they sing of vulnerabilty, tenderness etc but one must also be tough, hard that's what makes their music so good, it's very honest, very real. Beautiful melodies, sincere lyrics & screaming loud guitars! Deal with the heaviness & the beauty is revealed

[Verse 1] Hey, honey, what you trying to say? As I stand here, don't you walk away And the world comes tumbling down Hand in hand in a violent life Making love on the edge of a knife And the world comes tumbling down [Chorus 1] And it's hard for me to say And it's hard for me to stay I'm going down to be by myself I'm going back for the good of my health And there's one thing I couldn't do Sacrifice myself to you Sacrifice [Verse 2] Baby, baby, I just can't see Just what you mean to me I take my aim and I fake my words I'm just your longtime curse And if you walk away I can't take it [Chorus 2] But that's the way that you are And that's the things that you say But now you've gone too far With all the things you say Get back to where you come from I can't help it, under the April skies Under the April skies Under the April sun Under the April skies [Bridge] Under the April sun Under the April sun Under the April skies Under the April sun Under the April skies [Verse 3] The sun grows cold, the sky gets black And you broke me up and now you won't come back Shaking hand, life is dead And a broken heart and a screaming head Hey, hey [Outro] Under the April skies Under the April sun Under the April skies Under the April skies

Yeah ... Cool people who can express/experience with a hard real edge. The lyrics are so tender, the delivery very honest & open yet filled with that booming, consuming JAMC sonic performance. All their output expresses vulnerability, loneliness, longing but the massive sound, feed-back yeah? acts as a shield to deter the "other"/would be partner etc. I think what their saying is, I truly want/desire company but only one who can deal with the "heaviness" - the agressive guitars, etc will be able to reach me, A great band, did their thing their way a lot of angst/violence but hey ,,, Rock Gods

It's a great song JAMC are a great band They are very expressive, their sound is awesome, massive I think the "sonic overload"/feed-back is to deter the faint hearted, the lyrics are tender, genuine yet only a hardy soul is gonna make it through the wall of guitar heaviness - one has to be tough in this world - JAMC were very hard & very real

I absolutely love this song. I discovered it this year and it has been on repeat ever since. Just absolutely beautiful. Amazing lyrics, amazing melody and amazing voice. There's something so familiar yet fresh to it. "Hand in hand in a violent life. Making love on the edge of a knife" is a lyrical masterpiece. Wow.

The lead guitar sound is truly epic. It's been in my mind since I first heard it. It will never leave me. I know it may sound daft to some but because I've never seen this video before, I always pictured two singers in this group. One called Jesus Chain on lead vocals and the other, maybe his sister Mary Chain on backing vocals. That all changed when I saw the video for the first time.

80s the best decade in music and i'm not talking about the glam material but all the indie and alternative rock. Jmc, The Cure, The smiths, New Order, REM, The Replacements, Pixies, Guided By Voices, Sonic Youth and many other great bands. What a decade!!!! All my friends are into edm and shit and i feel like an outcast. I just can't explain to them how much important guitar solos and song lyrics are. They will never understand but I am glad that I am not like them. I love 80s music and always will.
