It’s unfortunate that Charles and Kim couldn’t get along. Kim is probably in a better place not having to deal (pun intended!) with the dysfunction. I’m sure Paz’s way of handling it had a lot to do with her being asked to join the group permanently. Both are wonderful bass players.

One of the most satisfying live sets I've watched in a while. It deserves mentioning just how many parts have been composed, practiced, and executed flawlessly by these 4 minds. Whereas the prototypical pop-star festival show might have 3 parts (verse, chorus, bridge) and keep cycling them in different keys for 90 minutes - something that any monkey could do. The Pixies are elite musicians; no contest!

Great band, great song writing, right on time for it's times, lots of ups and downs but ultimately they stood the test of time, hung in there, clambered through some darkness back towards the lights for all of these years and still have a cult following and great turn out to show. Wish I were there ... :( One of favourite bands - Nirvana , Pixies (and Frank Black) & Smashing Pumpkins - whenever I feel bad I listen to them & everything gets better :) Some bands come to my playlist - come and go. But Pixies is a permanent resident there/ ' coz this band is pure energy . Modern bands should learn from them.

So cool to see them out playing here, even without Kim who I dig... But, it's another example of a quality band moving forward with the passing of time, and new blood in the lineup (Alice In Chains, The Church, Lush, The Alarm, Big Country, The Cure, Van Halen, P.O.D, and VAST, just to name a few...) and the bass player did a great job here. Cerrando los ojos ni si quiera notarías la diferencia entre Kim y Paz. Aparte ella fue la que no quiso regresar. Black Francis no pudo hacer mejor trabajo en encontrar a Paz para que podamos seguir disfrutando de Pixies en vivo

Great comments. What I love about the Pixies is that ALL their music defies conventional rock and roll song-writing, yet it's still PURE fkg rock and roll! The way they randomly throw in a few bars of 5/4, 6/8, and use dissonant melody and chording as their standard framework(which is no framework at all). And of course the newer bass player and drummer have an uncommon command over the dynamics of hard/soft volume and intensity. But that's also a characteristic of the Pixies overall. As Black Francis has said himself, "We're Pixies; little people who're in touch with something mystical." I couldn't agree more. On my page, I'll be posting a cover of My Velouria within the next month, hopefully. Cheers!
