They’re not Rungus. These are Bonggi/Ubian/Irranun people. Rungus people rarely work on the commercial fishing boats like these. There is no native Malay in Sabah, let alone, working in the fishing industry in Kudat. Mainly Hakka people who own those boats. Yes, there are Muslim Rungus, but only a handful of them, around 35% at most (I am being very generous here) from the whole community, residing mainly in Pomonsukan area. I don’t know where did your facts from. This is merely drawn from your observation or you did talk to any of the natives?
