This Indigenous tribe is fighting to save an Indonesian rainforest from being wiped out for palm oil production.

The Tanah Merah project aims to clear 692,000 acres of land in Papua, Indonesia, to build palm oil estates operated by multiple companies, including PT Indo Asiana Lestari.
Members of the Indigenous Auyu tribe are calling for this operation to stop, demanding that the local government look into the validity of the permits issued. If the land is cleared, the Auyu tribe would have to surrender its ancestral land.

Stop buying products that use Palm Oil. Yes, you will have to take a little longer to read the ingredients, but it will create less demand for the use of Palm Oil. Write or call companies to tell them to stop using Palm Oil in their products. Let them know you won't buy them. Vote with your dollar, and don't waver. Money talks.

@@mantabsekali920 The alternatives are soybean oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, canola oil, corn oil, hemp seed oil, grape seed oil, olive oil ect. Ideally the alternate oils should be at least NONGMO, but at this point most oils are a better choice for the environment than palm oil. Companies use Palm Oil because it is the cheapest to produce, but it's a poor excuse.

The problem isn't that it's bad or good. The problem is that if nature falls, we will fall with it. And we are making soooo many beautiful creatures disappear when they serve abundant benefits to us as humans(part of the rainforest are used to create drugs, cure sorts of cancer...). And clearing the rainforest means faster global warming and that's a death sentence for everyone decades/centuries from now.
