☢️ Great to be back with a new series, as mentioned, this is my second time in Chernobyl. My last visit here in 2018 was an incredible experience so decided to come back and go deeper and experience more of this dark but fascinating place. I went there in 2013 just before the war started and did the guided tour. Since then there has been numerous youtubers filming the same main "attractions" that everyone likes to see. It gets a little repetitive. I'm sure there's a million interesting places left to explore there if the guide is willing/able to deviate from the regular program. So far this series looks promising as the first episode provides a more in depth look into some of the places than documented before.

To be fair, any city would look like this if abandoned for 35 years. There's nothing special about any of the facilities except for the radiation debris from the clothes in the hospital basement. High radiation levels can't be seen, only on the radiation detectors. This was just a nice Soviet city that is in ruins. Anywhere else it would have all been torn down. I've heard a lot of these places have been looted or rearranged extensively to make good photos over the years.

Jeez Nick, terrifying enough and the guy showing you round named "Igor" seriously, what a total tragedy, I saw the Chernobyl series, the horror of it all was shocking, I think your doing an excellent job putting this appalling circumstance back in peoples minds. Being a cancer sufferer myself, was any "real" (not cover up) estimation taken of the damage done by the radioactive cloud that emanated accross the world in health terms? Your obviously a brave young man, keep up the good work - true journalism
@IndigoTraveller3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Joseph, appreciate that. I hope you are recovering and are in reasonable health now. As far as I know any real estimation of the total effect on people's health is hard to accurately measure as it was so spread out and hard to keep track of but the official numbers drastically underrepresented the truth of the tragedy that this accident caused.
