That is very, very far from the truth my friend. There are many places in the world where you would be kidnapped and killed or tortured and sold for ransom. Don't be so ignorant as to think all people are good.

Yea that could happen anywhere st home also, the point is use general smarts, the public aren’t going to kill you they will be as I said almost anywhere, if you are kicking around somewhere quiet with murders sure, I’ve been over the Middle East all great experiences, got stabbed in the neck in London...

@@delaman4991 There are places where people will kill you without a second thought. The middle east is not all the same. Going to kuwait or some shit doesn't mean anything. But go to some remote village in a war plagued country and even the regular locals will kill you.

True...right up to the point where it become false and everything goes sideways FAST! Unless you have really solid situational awareness, know when to "listen to your gut" and have a plan to get out of a bad situation, I do not advise ANY American looking, from US or not, to visit anywhere in the middle east without an escort. 99% of the time everything will be fine, because most humans are decent, but I equate traveling to the middle east to being out after 02:00....the odds start to stack against you quickly if you wander into the wrong areas.

I mean I’m half Middle Eastern my grandfather ran sugar and commodities in trucks during WW2 he stopped to eat in a village in the south coast of Iran, had kebab and went to the back and saw a guys leg in the kitchen, they had killed him for his money then fed part of his leg to my grandfather and that’s an honest to God true story, so I’m aware of dangerous places and know how to blend I’ve been to the Middle East, South Asia, Latin America, in I’m not some American tourist with a sun visor and a giant camera like I said if you show respect and you’re smart you can go anywhere, I know a guy from cabada ended up in jail in Panama and he cane home fine, humans are of different abilities, if you are aware any tactful you can go anywhere it’s more dangerous at home sometimes as you’re more complacent

Those moments are scary, Nick. I had one such time on the Chinese-Russian border in 1992. I was shaking badly when three Russian military came into my cubicle on my train. Luckily, they were incredibly gentle and kind towards me, but the sigh of relief afterwards was huge. I had seen them drag 3 Chinese nationals off the train just after we entered the Russian side. We were not supposed to see what happened to them, but I had to peek out from the curtains.

I'd say it's possible to still feel intimated and scared in an unfamiliar and potentially dangerous place, without acting like you're shitting it and still being polite and nice to the people you meet. I've had a similar experience crossing the Mauritanian border, it's not a pleasant or particularly friendly place, but if you act rude or frightened you're gonna get a lot of negative attention and increase the likelihood of something bad happening to you.

alistair antonopoulos I understand that, I’m just saying based on the videos he doesn’t appear to be in danger yet titles his videos (not safe) (don’t feel safe) etc. to me it feels like clickbait. He didn’t have any negative interactions even when he asks stupid questions to locals such as “so you don’t mind living in misery?” ... just kind of a bad look in my opinion when you’re shooting the shit with people, they invite you to parties and feed you and then you make it out to seem like your life was in danger.

The nice people aren't the problem, the bad people are. In Algeria I was constantly told to stay with the people I knew. All my female relatives had to cover their heads when going to the market and had to travel with a man. Even then people would say the most horrendous things to them infront of our family. That's just day to day. That excludes the bombing of the market 2 weeks before we arrived and the kidnappings when travelling near the mountains. Of course Algeria is not touristic, but even Morroco which is touristic is dangerous for tourist when you're travelling the normal parts of the country.

@@jackyoung9691 i definitely feel sorry for you... The way you think is just gross. There are nice people everywhere and you shouldn't just believe whatever you hear on social media and news... Iranian people are warm, kind, and dont even get me started on their hospitality.... They welcome people that they dont even know in their homes and treat them so well... You shouldn't just sit there and judge everyone based on what you've heard...thats so ridiculous . People in iran are under a lot of pressure and they deal with all kinds of new problems every single day and they tend to stay positive throughout all of those problems. Right now there's a flooding in iran ,killing people and destroying every single thing ,and people in other cities are helping and giving out food, clothes, supplies... even those people that don't have much to give... If thats not kind then what do you call it?? People in iran are true angles and thats something i don't think you'll ever understand....you can't even begin to understand what kinds of stuff they're dealing with right now. naz banoo you wrote a long story that is suitable more for a magazine and is a product of your illusion so I will not bother myself and put a long reply. I have lived with Iranian more than 17 years. I also lived in many other nations and absolutely know what I am saying. Tell your story to Afghans people. I am sure they will laugh so much, or maybe they start to cry. You are the last people on the earth that could praise yourselves and make such a stupid argument. In Iraq there are around 1 million Egyptian lives for more than 30 years. If you go to them and ask how are Iraqi people, you will see the tears in their eyes telling you that they never feel they are not Iraqi. Go and ask the same question from Afghans in Iran. Talking is the easiest thing to do anyway; reality is different.

Ive been dreaming to go to Iraq. Ive been watching your video the whole, yes literally the whole dude. Especially the hitchhiking part. Man, how did you do that. I am so inspired. Gives me the urge to actually go to middle east. Especially Iraq.

My guess is that he knows that people are normally just trying to get by and not interested in politics. Tbh we should not confuse politics with people :)
