I imagine any protective style would help your hair grow because less manipulation. But I don't know exactly and I have issues with my hair not growing. It's been mostly the same length for years so I add extentions and do protective styles.

Yes. I've been doing it for years, but a lot of people said it was "weird" or "ugly" but I didn't care. I didn't have to do my hair for at least 3weeks 😁 and best part...NO BRAIDES!😅 I only used my hair, had no idea u could you use fake hair. Important to not put the rubber band tight or you will get breakage. 3-4x at the base and 2x through the length. Use clips to secure the ends.
