I started armor building recently (did mainly aircraft) and I avoided whatevery kit that had individual links. This actually doesnt look that bad thank you

I just got back to the hobby for the first time since I was a kid, and after finishing my first tank I really wondered what to do with it instead of playing with it like back in the day. I really like that shelf on the right, I think I will steal that idea. Thank you

Perfect timing John, I am doing a Buddy Build of a T-55 with Greg Reilly and Steve Mottram. I am just getting to the bit where I need to assemble the tracks and they are the individual links, which I have never done before, so your video could not have arrived at a better time. Many thanks for this help, it will save a lot of problems and a lot of swearing too!! I love these videos, they are so helpful and useful to so many many people. Keep up the great work John and many thanks once again for sharing your skills and knowledge with us on here. Have fun my friend, Joe

Thank you so much for this video! This was super helpful, I’m very new to to the world of model kits but am very excited to get into them. I got my first kit three years ago but after starting it stopped the second I saw the tracks being individual links because I had no bloody idea what I was supposed to do. Found myself recently really wanting to get back into it and give my poor half built Hetzer some love. This video has been extremely helpful and has actually made it look like quite a bit of fun. I can’t wait to get stuck into it after I acquire some of that slow drying glue and finally complete my first model :D

Hi John. Soooo glad I came across this video of yours. Did modelling when I was in my teens, now two weeks shy of my 60th, back to it. One kit I'm working on is the Hobbyboss Panzer 38t. First time I've EVER come across individual links. Me: 😱😱😱. After watching your video: 😁😁😁. Thank you from another mad Irishman. (Madder than you, because I live in England now).

I use 2 pieces of L shaped aluminium back to back drill holes in each end and small bolts with a firm spring. Slide tracks in and u can pin them or glue them. Love your work and commentary keep up good work

Ok John TKS ill b trying it soon would painted plastic mess it up ! ? Anyway last night I checked out ( GD models ). And he was doing a full build tiger tank ! In parts ! Like. 18 ! Unreal the amount of detail he put into it ! But I didn't really like the camo color ! But all in all very nice ! Hats off to him . I think it took him like 6 months to build it ! Or so

Did you attempt to join the first and last links? I didn't get the ending with just the tape. Tamiya's Extra Thin seems pretty slow to set. Have you used this product before? I appreciate your video as I was flummoxed by the individual inks and was avoiding vehicles which had them! Thank you.
@johnmooresscalemodels51766 жыл бұрын
I use revell contacta to do the links and use tape to hold when joining the last two untill the glue cures
@rkbush276 жыл бұрын
Great video John! Anything helps. Tracks have to be the most tedious thing ever (except for the dentist chair. ) Unfortunately the Revell glue isn't available in the States. Any suggestions on what to use? Thanks!

The sprues on my FV215b (183) track links keep breaking off and making the tracks flimsy, what should i do?
@johnmooresscalemodels51763 жыл бұрын
To be honest I don't know. All I can think of is to try make them into link and length just tamiya extra thin and just make them in sections.

I'm doing them for my jagdpanther 2 just started 4 nloody sprues and 3 peice tracks! That single link is just pointless haha
