And yes, as you alluded to at the end, a distinct TSS score (and perhaps separate/compartmentalised PMC) for aerobic vs anaerobic would be insane!

So is Vo2 max basically the upper limit of what you can do before there is no more contribution (even miniscule) from your aerobic energy system? i.e. the tipping point at which you become completely dependent on anaerobic energy?

No, all systems always supply energy in varying degrees.
