I've managed to solve the issue I was having at 18:14. The follow up video with the solutions linked here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4POfJiYj8uHnZI

I've had my trials with this product for sure. Having said that, I do own two and use them. :) Great video! (and thank you for the mention)
@MsMadLemon10 күн бұрын
My pleasure! I dont blame you for having two, I can't get over how nice the image looks 🙂 I'm not sure if they've fixed the issue. For me, It seems to retain settings at certain times and not at others. Thank you for reducing some of the worry and headache I would have faced had I not watched your video!

@ Awesome. Yes that software is quite...the challenge. I've had to make a couple videos for it, mostly so that I can go back and watch to understand it all. ;)

Hi Maddie, Nicely done. I originally bought the MK2 and loved it, sold it when I sold that A1200. Last year put together another A1200 and bought the MK3. Did nothing but struggle with it until I just sold it. Hope you have better luck. Just a note, I now live in Braga, Portugal, enjoying it.
@MsMadLemon10 күн бұрын
Good to hear from you Brad, it's been a while. I've not experienced the MK2 at all. My experience with the MK3 isn't as bad as what yours sounds like. Just that one issue, which is annoying. I hope Individual computers watch this. Nice to know you're enjoying life in Portugal.

Few years ago I had the MK2, and I was really happy with it. Now I am thinking of getting this, because of the new useful features. I love the video, especially now that it is another Amiga focused one. Thank you! 🙂
@MsMadLemon10 күн бұрын
Thank you Mauro. Most of my videos have something related to Amiga in them, especially the music ones since I create on it. I actually don't know the MK2 in great depth so you know the differences between them. Did the MK2 have this same issue I talk about at 18:14 ? My pleasure, happy you enjoyed the video! 🙂
@MauroSanna10 күн бұрын
@@MsMadLemon Yes, I follow your channel since quite a long time, and I enjoy all your content, music included. The MK2 didn't have that issue, it worked straight away, although setting it up was a bit more complicated, because of the lack of a better interface (like the OSD you have on the MK3 and the revisited Indivision app, that looks a bit easier than the one I was used to).

Great review. I love tinkering with my A1200 too. Find it relaxing even though it doesn't always go to plan :D

Hiya Maddi ☺️ That beautiful A1200 has seen some changes over the years and this was a joy to watch as always. The results are stunning and I have never seen a Amiga output look that good. It’s just a shame that it doesn’t retain the settings after an overnight “cold boot”, (I know this gets sorted in the follow up video, phew). I have to agree that the UI looks confused and very unfriendly but l am so glad you get it to how you want it to be by trial and error but it shouldn’t be that way. The setup looks so good and you can just feel the creative energy that can be produced!! Anyways, all the best to you, Rich, Mr Neelix and all the family ☺️👍🏼

Nice to see a Amiga Video. I have my MK3 in my Pistorm A1200. What I have done is have the MK3 HDMI out through where old TV modulator was and the Pi HDMI out the back with other ports. I do this as I have got RGT graphics from the Pi but when I use a game it goes back to the A1200 AGA mode.
@shan27529 күн бұрын
The 640x512 mode won’t show the vertical overscan area which is more prevalent with scene demos. The original display that came up included a vertical overscan area.

@13:39 I was actually wearing my Ice and Fire T-shirt while watching this. I mean, what are the odds?! - Okay okay, I do realize that this completely depends on how many really nerdy retro T-shirts I own... Which believe me, amounts to quite a few 😅🤣

Haha what are the odds indeed. I mean you own many T-shirts but they're not all Fire & Ice so it still applies :-))

One of the favorite things about the Amiga 500 when I first heard it around 1992 was when my friend had it hooked up to a receiver and two bookshelf speakers separated quite a bit. The hard left and right panning was incredible. Do you have another speaker on your right as well? Great video!
@MsMadLemon9 күн бұрын
Thank you! The same when we had an A500 and it was linked to the hifi and sounded amazing through the speakers. This is just a simple workbench type setup and that's a portable stereo speaker unit. When I put the Amiga in it's proper place it will be connected to a hifi setup with bookshelf speakers as you described 🙂

In live edit mode you can hold mouse 1 and drag the mouse to zoom and resize. It's funny, I've never had to use a rescue disk. Works every time for me.
@MsMadLemon9 күн бұрын
Yes, I just discovered the zoom function, thanks. By the sounds of it people with different A1200 revisions seem to experience slightly different issues with the indivision AGA. Anyway, I solved my issues and just posted a follow-up video.

I have an mk2 but the timings could never be dialed in perfectly so there would always be some hitch or frame skip every now and then. I used Jim Power to test with since it has a good scrolling title screen. The picture quality is great though :)
@walkero9 күн бұрын
Great video. What I would do is to check the floppy disk what exactly it does, and try to reproduce it on the WB HDD. If there was a need for a rescue disk, I guess IComp would provide one. Sorry I can't help more with it. I am using an old MK2 and I never had to use a rescue disk.
@MsMadLemon9 күн бұрын
Thanks for the help, it's what I'd try and do also, to explore the rescue disk to see what command initiates it. I've just posted a follow-up video with solutions, the issue seems to be solved.

As far as why aren't these old Amiga games going 30x faster on that '060, unlike most 8-bit home computers of olde, the Amiga and systems of its time had vertical blanking interrupts that allowed devs to sync (or cap) the actual screen updates of their games to the screen refresh (of 50Hz or 60Hz), therefore with so much more CPU power, the game will still run at its intended "speed" but be able to make (usually) an update per screen refresh, and be very smooth as a result. For instance, Flight Simulator II on the Amiga runs far below 50 or 60fps on a standard Amiga because it doesn't have the CPU power to meet those framerates. But, with a hugely more powerful CPU, it will run extremely smoothly, but still be tied to the framerate as far as how much should / could change per refresh -- it's a cap. This was not the case with the Apple II, IBM PC, C64, etc -- those games will run unbounded when you give them huge CPU power, to a fault.
@shan27529 күн бұрын
It’s more likely for Vsync to work when using the VGA port rather than HDMI. The tool works well, you just need to read the wiki page documentation a dozen times or so.

Hi, could you please give me the link how to get new amiga key caps? And how to get the 1260 you have on your setup? Thanks in advance! Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
@MsMadLemon10 күн бұрын
Greetings! To be honest, I spray painted my keycaps before keycaps were available to buy. You can try looking at stores for Amiga stuff. Amigastore.eu has a TF1260 for sale, not sure about keycaps. Lotharek's Lair ( lotharek.pl ) sells Amiga stuff as well as others. retroready.one is another place that sells Amiga accelerators etc. They're UK based though.

By the way, you can save the settings from withing the Indivision utility. Unless it is broken in this version of course.

Yes, I saved it, but it seems broken as it forgets them after cold boot, not sure why.

Constant unscrewed... yep so was my A1200 for (never my Amiga 500) also... I had 1 3.5" drive "inside" and another cable to another 3.5" drive outside... So I could never put that together (well if I did not want to destroy it)... I was going to buy a 2.5" that would be same/bigger size as those two drives one day I thought but I just did not have the money... You should get hold of MED Soundstudio! that is truly awesome!

My (desktop) A1200 is held together by the clips at the back and two pieces of black electrical tape at the front! Why risk permanently ruining the screw hole threads by keep screwing it back together?!

No, because my interest in the Amiga isn't about adding stuff to it, but actually using it for creativity. As I have been doing since the 90s.
