Thank you so much for all the love and support in the comments, we really appreciate them! As an Indonesian I want to add that almost 60% (70,46 million people) of our population are informal workers, which means they do not have a stable income in day-to-day basis let alone monthly. So I understand how difficult it must be to make decision between economic stability or the lives and wellness of hundreds of thousands. I do agree that our government acted too late because of their effort trying to calm things down by not informing the people earlier in February and March. But I also believe that their intention came from a good place, although the execution was evidently messy. Things may look blurry now for Indonesia, all we can do is to pray and do our best on flattening the curve. May peace be upon you

The rule says airlines only open for people who is working in primary sector (doctor, food, etc) also people with urgent reason (like family death). But the problem is our government can’t establish a real penalty for the violation to the rule, don’t even bother our people, we have the culture of broke the rule. So on the first day of the airport opening there are too much crowds. At the end.... the biggest problem is our government can’t state a real penalty regarding the rules to prevent covid. And on top of that, people don't even listen to what the government told them to do and continued going to the mosque to pray, where they are exposed to hundreds of other people in very close proximity. Yes, they government should have been more iron-fisted and punish people who don't physically distance themselves, but that would just make people hate the government more. No, it's more decision that born from the economics reality here, most of the ppl live on day to day wage and small trades and merchantile. The gov have a lot of problems in distributing the food and funds everywhere due to incorrect data and corruption in between the distribution. While many countries take the policy to stay-at-home and social-distancing seriously, I've seen some/many people going out to do not-so-important-thing, like going shopping for festival event or visiting relatives after ramadan or held wedding reception. When you see from video how dense people here queuing, it happens everyday. Even if the staff put really clear mark in queuing-line for social-distancing, most of us just ignore it. ...and during this pandemic, some people (including me) still go to work like usual (not work-from-home) - because the employer has to keep the bussiness going if we want to get paid.. So the dilema between saving the economic and saving the people life is real... and I think it happens in other countries too, right?
