Funfact : As some indonesians say in the comments, not everyone understands the meaning of all the songs. Heck, maybe noone totally understands every songs sung in this medley lol. This is because these songs are traditional songs that came from different regions in indonesia that are sung in their respective local languages. Indonesia have a total of 700+ local languages and indonesian people usually only understand 1 to 3 languages in total. 1 for people who don't understand local languages at all, only indonesian national language (usually towns people). 2 for people who understands indonesian and one local language of their tribe. And 3 for people whose parents are from different tribes. those are the most common language knowledge of most indonesians. If you're still not convinced or wanna know how different the languages are, try turning on the indonesian subs and compare the lyrics translated from the subs to the one at the bottom (the original lyrics). Some are close to the indonesian language and some are totally different, that's how diverse it is. Our girls are also seen wearing traditional clothes from different places on this video along with the hand and body gestures referencing to their respective traditional dances from each regions. I love how they put in these little details and i'm just excited to share it even more !!! 🤩 Also some add-ons: If you see how indonesians are touched and may seem overproud, that's because having such diverse traditions are a benefit yet also a risk for indonesia. But despite all of that, we decided to put back all our respective tribes and local prides aside to unite into one country named Indonesia and learn again from 0 a language that we made ourselves called "bahasa indonesia" so that we can communicate properly with each other. Since we were children, we were taught to always be proud of our own diversity, just like our country's motto : BHINNEKA TUNGGAL IKA (unity in diversity) This independence day is a reminder for all indonesians to where we all started from and our holoid girls did that in such a beautiful way 🥺❤️

This Hololive Indonesia medley just hit me right in the feels. I mean, seeing them in those traditional outfits, singing songs from my childhood... it's like a piece of home I never knew I was missing. Their voices were so beautiful, and the music just transported me back to simpler times. I'm not ashamed to admit I was sobbing by the end. It's such a powerful reminder of our rich culture and heritage. I'm so grateful for videos like this.

I've watched this several times and still haven't read the translation. I enjoyed listening to the musicality of the Indonesian languages. I particularly liked Ollie's articulation, which isn't as easily noticed during streams. Iofi's singing always sparks joy into each syllable she uses. Reine and Zeta have very cool, soft, clean voices which are easy to listen to. Anya's part was very smooth and cute. Kaela easily has the warmest and friendliest vibe. Risu's singing was flawless, as always. Her voice rings in your ears! Kobo's singing is comparable to a live performance, like she's singing directly in front of me, it feels very familiar. In contrast, Moona's was an out-of-this-World experience. I got studio ghibli vibes hearing 6:20! Terima kasih!

I'm an indonesian and trust me when i say not every indonesian understands the language lol. There are just too many of them in our country that it would take years or maybe decades to properly learn all of them. It might be a little out of topic but this is also why me as an indonesian don't understand the whole culture appropriation thing happening in social media rn. We Indonesians have far different cultures and languages that it's not surprising to say that it's like we're all from different countries knowing how different our cultures are. But even if we dont know the meaning we still sing each other's traditional song, we still wear each other's traditional clothes, we still dance to each other's traditional dances, and we still try to join each other's cultural rituals. May the reason be proper learning, passing curiosity, or just simply because it's beautiful. All is fine as long as you're respectful. A couple of wrong moves/wrong ways to wear are fine as long as you're willing to learn. And showing it around being proud of it even if it's not your culture is fine as long as it's not ill-willed. Culture is meant to be spread and enjoyed together. We're living in the age where we're mature and smart enough not to compare a culture with another; us indonesians has learnt that in the most harsh way. There's no culture appropriation, there's only culture appreciation. And even if there is some people using other's culture with ill-will that's also not culture appropriation..... That's just plain rude and they need a good ol' beating from the locals 😊

This is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! I totally love how you guys are always proud of your heritage & constantly find ways to showcase it & spread it along the other members of your company. It may seem simple to some, but being in a Japanese company, with your other huge audience being western English speakers makes it actually difficult to decide to do these things & puts pressure on you when you decide to do it, to go above and beyond everytime. So shoutouts to every member & MAJOR SHOUTOUTS to the team that helped produce this!!! The number of illustrations alone is crazy, let alone the details and the monster 9+ minutes of tracks that needed to be mixed & divided between so many members. Also, OBVIOUSLY, not that it needs mentioning but the singing was on point & the outfits were very pretty! HoloID will always be the strongest branch in my eyes, no contest! 💪🏼 Y'all are the best! P.S. Everytime you release an ID song, I love looking for words that are similar/close enough in Arabic 😄 didn't expect the word for "season" to be sooo similar. "Mosque" on the other hand being close didn't surprise me 😁
@andriardianovic24755 ай бұрын
Indonesian Language absorbs around 2000-3000 words from Arabic. That's why there are so many similarities in vocabulary between these two languages.
@ryuutobi5 ай бұрын
"Masigit" is a Sundanese word, the Indonesian is "masjid," the same as the Arabic. Indonesia has hundreds of different ethnic groups with their own unique language and culture. The last song, "Bengawan Solo" is in standard Indonesian instead of an ethnic language and thus has more loan words than the rest. There are words borrowed from Arabic other than the one you mentioned such as riwayat, insani, and kaum.

Great attention to detail! So it's a triple treat of culture from the holoid girls, we are being spoiled rotten by them! I'm so grateful for their efforts

Man, this give me such nostalgia. As someone who moved around during my early and middle education years, I actually learned about most of these songs because of what's taught in school and what is playing at either souvenir shops or local TV stations. Good times. I love these, but I do have a soft spot for Anging Mamiri.

Absolutely beautiful. While I do not understand any Indonesian at all, I still find myself eternally grateful to Hololive for introducing ID branch - and of course to all of the ID Talents. You are all amazing in your own unique ways, and all incredibly talented from all of your hard work and efforts.

As a biologist i knew Indonesia only due to its geography and ecology till last a couple years. But since starting to watch holo ID, i got curious about the culture too and the languages so beautiful. Congratulations to the girls for their tear-bursting performance and it is so nice to see how happy Indo bros are being represented by them and appriciated. Happy Independence Day to Indonesia and love from Central to South East Asia!

Thank you. I'm currently taking an undergraduate course in biology, and trust me, we spend most of our studies comprehending the biodiversity of Indonesia, considering its diverse ecological property across the archipelago. I aspire to become a full-fledged biologist like you.

@@raiamayeesha1957 I'm so happy to hear that! I'm huge fan of Sahul and Sunda biotas and you're very lucky as a biologist in my opinion. You're inhabiting the remnants of a rainforest that far surpassed the Amazon at its peak and still have more mammal diversity. I'm really jealous of monotremes and marsupials to be honest as a mammal enjoyer.

Thank you for creating this beautiful and gorgeous medley 💕! (P.S.: I cried when Bengawan Solo started; I hope you guys consider performing the full version). Dirgahayu Republik Indonesia!

Damn... I've been out of Indonesia for about 3 years. It has been a while since I've listened to Indonesian Folk Music. I was singing along and stopped at the transition from Soleram to Anging Mammiri because I was crying. Bravo to the arranger and all the production behind the piece. Bravo to the talents too for singing all of the songs beautifully.
