I have a question since you have traveled through and lived in China. I've heard they are super strict about letting foreigners book and stay in hotels, especially if they don't look East Asian. I've heard a lot of stories about people traveling through the country and booking rooms only to be denied entry once they show up in person. Is this true and did it feel like many people were not accepting of you deep down when you lived there? I'm genuinely curious and agree with most of what you've said in this video

This has happened to me, the solution is trip.com. haha ive had tons of hotel bookings fall through. trip.com called hotels for me, and confirmed that they accept foreigners and helped me get the bookings. Always book a few days in advance BTW this is a legal thing. not a rejection thing. i think it the goverment wanting to make sure foreigners stay only in places that are up to certain standards or probably just pricing haah
