I have been to Indonesia several times including Java, Jogjakarta, Bali, Sumatra and many other islands and I can confirm Indonesia's religious past is everywhere to see which was very different from what you see now. It's temples, arts, monuments, rituals, ceremonies and even names of the people are 100% Hindu and Buddhist. They even perform a 2 hour long Ramayana ballet with over 500 artists on a giant stage next to Prambanan Hindu temple complex every full moon week. Most Indonesians have Hindu sounding Sanskrit language names though they are following their new religion islam. Bali, the popular island of Indonesia is 90% Hindu and it's a mirror image of what entire Indonesia was like previously. The concept of 'pancaseela' in Indonesia is derived from India's own "Pancha Sheela" principles. It's a shame on Indonesian government that they forced the Balinese Hindu people to accept this so called 'monotheistic' form of God known as "Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa" also known as "Acinta" . Why should they follow monotheistic god?. What's wrong if they worship multiple gods?. Who decides god is only one and not many?. Did anybody actually see one god?. Anyway, India was and still is a major cultural power which passed on many religions, cultures, rituals, languages, and scripts to most If not all of South and east asian countries. He seems to be from a noble family, starting his career through conquest in several parts of Cambodia. He was recognized as the Demon Jayavarman at that time. You can see the word 'karma' in all ancient hindu scripts including bhagvat gita' pls do research on that...the essence of it is so divine yet guides you how to live even in our current era. Once you research, you will know every body who talk about karma took it from Hinduism . Buddha was a hindu (sanatani) by birth. He put forth a way of living. All other related religions started by a hindu only. So, roots are same. Bhudhas original name is siddhartha - which means 'one who has achieved all wishes/ goals' in Indian hindu sanskrit language.

You are ill informed. He himself pronounced himself as the reincarnation of Vishnu. He belonged to ikshvaku dynasty. The same dynasty of lord Ram. Your information comes from the later interpretations that try to establish Buddhism different from Hinduism. Remember all ancient texts show they weren't different for example the university proffesors of vaishali kingdom (a hindu kingdom) used to teach Buddha's teachings on and around 500 years after Buddha nirvana. Sanatan Dharma can be regarded as science of spirituality and there have been many path finders. And to end he left 10 unanswered questions including one on god and on Aatman (loosely translated to soul however english doesn't have right word for it) but few cunning fellows said he refuted their existence.

The basic problem with monotheistic belief system is, you cannot accept/respect the religious beliefs of person who is following other religion. If you do that, then it is sin.
