Exceptional layout! Beautiful scenery. I love the reverse loop, point to point track plan. It really is the best of both worlds. It allows continuous operation, without the appearance of trains just orbiting. Well done.

One of the very best, if not the best scale (G scale) layouts on KZbin, period. Awesome work sir!

Museum quality work! The best G I've seen. Beautifully done loco/rolling stock/buildings & lush scenery (was hoping the driver would wave at me!). Great use of natural materials & fabulous eye for color & weathering. If the camera would slow down/smooth out a little we could enjoy it even more (the modeling is a work of art & so would be the video if it matched the modeling). Thanks for sharing! Another post asked about a web site but I didn't see an answer - would love to see track plan/more videos, etc...

What a wonderful layout! The colors and greenery I think really set this layout apart from others. I love these two videos and will watch them over and over. I especially love your loco in this video. Thanks!

Wow, your scenery is absolutely amazing! You are a talented man if you did this yourself. The trees and other greenery look so real!

Norm: This has to be my favorite G scale layout. I loved the tour and hope someday to achieve something 1/2 as gorgeous as your wooded country layout. Where did you come up with the track plan? If you're willing to share it, I know a number of us would probably be using your track plan and work as true inspiration!

Michael .thanks I used to sit and draw plans for hours. I would then draw trains on the plans to see if I could move trains around on the layout. The size of my new basement was a big part of it too. The layout is a one track main line, with a reverse loop at each end. The track folds over itself a couple of times. Maybe the next time we update the video I'll show a drawing of the track plan.

Wow it looked a lot taller from the 2013 perspective of the locomotive. I thought you had something going from the floor up to almost ceiling. Still really good layout, just fooled me is all.

Your scenery is stunning! What gauge scenery do you use for your G-scale? I didn't know they made model RR scenery in Large Scale.
@normandersen532710 жыл бұрын
MisterPersuasion the trees are real branches from bushes that I collect in the winter. The evergreen are tops of evergreens that grow wild around here in the ditch. ( they are weeds around here ) I spray them with a clear poly. and then sprinkle green ground foam on them to keep them green. The rock castings I made myself.

You do very nice work. Perhaps you could make a KZbin video of your process from start to finish. I'm sure there are many of us G-Scalers who would benefit from your creative skills.

I know what will make that layout shine! A Bachmann 1:20.3 2-6-0 locomotive! There are 4 schemes: •Denver & Rio Grande Western (Raton) •Eureka & Palisade (Reveille) •Glenbrook •Grizzly Flats (Emma Nevada)

do you use O scale box cars bodies for that shrunken/ narrow gauge appearance?

Hey Norm, r u going to reply to comments or is this someone else's layout?
@normandersen532710 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry I just figured out how to reply to the comment. Yes it's my layout and the evergreen trees are branches off real trees. I spray them with a clear coat then cover them some with woodland Scenics ground foam. Thanks for the comment and sorry I didn't respond sooner.
